VERY well acted made for HBO drama about the white surgeon Alfred Blalock, the world famous "blue baby" doctor who pioneered modern heart surgery, and his black lab assistant Vivien Thomas who actually was the inventor of much of the surgical equipment and proceedures used in these early heart operations before the advent of heart-lung machines.

stars Alan Rickman as Dr Blalock (he played Professor Snape in the Harry Potter films) and Mos Def as Vivien Thomas.

will air again on HBO-SG (Ch 302 on Dish-TV) in HD Tuesday April 13th @ 7:30 pm pdt and Friday April 16th @ 3:00 pm pdt.

I cant watch it after seeing that complete F&#x27;n idiot Mos Def spouting off about politics somehwere...ruins it for me&#xD;&#xA;well he&#x27;s EXCELLENT as Vivien Thomas.in the movie. &#xD;&#xA;politics be damned. I think that Jimmy Stewart was one of the top 5 best actors EVER and he was SO right wing I&#x27;m somewhat suprised he flew AGAINST the nazis.&#xD;&#xA;(that&#x27;s probably why both Ronald Reagan and John Wayne dodged the draft in WWII)

&#xD;&#xA;This was the first movie I had ever seen Mos Def in - and he was fantastic - hell, the whole cast was fantastic.  It&#x27;s a great story with great messages.  Put that political thing aside and check it out - you won&#x27;t regret it.&#xD;&#xA;Oh yeah, by the way, Devils - Mos is far, far, far from an idiot.  If his political views differ from yours, then so be it.  But that guy is very intelligent....

I dont care for him, plus I have seen him in 2 movies 1 was that awful sack of crap Be Kind Rewind, the other was 16 blocks, hes a mushmouth. Dont like him at all
