great movie. christian bale should win the academy award. he played a fantastic role.

&#xD;&#xA;As much of a douche that Christian Bale is in his daily life he is a remarkable actor.  What he put his body through to play this role (loss as much weight as he did to look like a crack head) is remarkable itself but he pegged Dickie down.  Incredible acting.  Great story line.  Something you can really sink your teeth into and walk away satisfied.

I read that Marky Mark wanted Martine Scorsese to direct the movie and Scorsese turned it down after reading the script...

Marky Mark was average at best.  The dude doesn&#x27;t even sound like he is from Mass anymore either.  If you listen to Micky Ward for one minute he sounds nothing like Marky Mark.  While in vast contrast Christian Bale with his heavy accent sounded like he could be from Mass.  Very impressive.  That is just one small difference between the two.  I could go one and one, but Marky Mark is FROM Bean Town.

It was a very good movie but to not have it end with his bouts vs Gatti is ludicrous. Bale was outstanding
