Haven&#x27;t seen them in probably 15 years, maybe more, but they were really good in the Rust in Peace days with what was probably their best lineup.  They did suck live during stretches of their early years, especially around the So Far So Good So What era.  They seem to be good live from what I&#x27;ve seen on YouTube of more recent shows.

It sounded like pure treble and snare drum, and for effect they turned up their sound to a level that seemed like 3 times higher than the other bands were. . . very little bass anywhere, and the vocals were terrible.  For a band that was 15 years old or so, it was a completely amateurish performance.  Maybe I was expecting a whole lot more, I don&#x27;t know, but prior to that, I thought they were OK.  Avoided them like the plague ever since.&#xD;&#xA;And it wasn&#x27;t because of the venue acoustics or anything, because Sevendust, Soulfly, and Limp Bizkit were on before them and had awesome shows, and Tool delivered a performance after them that was so great it made me a fan for life. Megadeth stank up the joint&#xD;&#xA;I&#x27;ve probably seen 100&#x2B; shows since then, and their performance stuck with me more than any other band I cen remember as being the most disappointing.

&#x27;98 was a bad time for megadeth....dave was on and off the smack pretty heavy then, lineup changes etc etc.....apparently in the 80s when the band was going through withdrawl the shows were just fuckin terrible. i can only assume the same shit was going on in &#x27;98. i saw them in 2007 and 2008 and both times they absolutely tore shit up, like seriously.....played every one of their great songs and then some.....got to meet the band last time too....could tell dave was clean....cant say it enough.....they tore up.....exactly the opposite of what youre describing G8RB8.....id say give em another shot....the guy theyve got playing lead guitar now....Chris Broderick......just sick.....
