LONDON (AP) -- Richard Wright, a founding member of the rock group Pink Floyd, died Monday. He was 65.
Pink Floyd's spokesman Doug Wright, who is not related to the artist, said Wright died after a battle with cancer at his home in Britain. He says the band member's family did not want to give more details about his death.

David Gilmour once said that Richard was the only "member" of Pink Floyd who made money on "The Wall" tour. Since Roger Waters had fired Wright from the band -- at that point a company -- he was paid along with the other session musicians, backup singers, roadies and crew. The remaining members of Floyd all lost money because costs of the tour exceeded revenues. Richard chuckled over that one, I'm sure.

Another note that kind of goes with what you said. Richard didn't have hardly anything to do with "A Momentary Lapse of Reason". In his book he said he was pretty much a studio guy for it.
I have always kinda of held that against Gilmore.
In fact if you really get down to it, the record was pretty much just a Gilmore solo project. But I still liked it. Since post Waters I think I like Division Bell the best.
Rick will be missed. He really was overlooked for the most part. You don't know how good someone was till they are gone.
