I always listened a great deal to this guy. I wonder if any of the older gents in this forum listened to him when they where younger.
To me Ricky Nelson symbolizes the whole feeling of the 1950'ties and the 1960'ties.
The good looking american hearthtrob singer that could set any teen girls heart at fire.
The music was simple, the theme was more or less centered around love and most of the entertainers back then had amazing vocal.
I can imagine why Ricky Nelson must been a teenage idol back then with his good looks, and easy going music. To me it seems like he often stood in the shadows of more famous artists such as Buddy Holy and Elvis Presley. And in the 60 ties the change of music introduced with icon bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kings, The Who and the list goes on and on.
Anyhow he died way to early in 1985 when his place caught fire. Still we have some great music left.
Anyone else like his music? Must of it is written by others and recorded by several artists, as it was the custom at the time.
To me it just seems like we dont see a lot of artists these days with such a nice vocal.
