Great and underrated guitarist &amp; songwriter imo being in Duane&#x27;s shadow early on. Really stepped out &amp; showed his stuff after Duane died in &#x27;71. Saw my 1st ABB show that same yr in Houston just mos after Duane&#x27;s accident. Loved their music from the get-go...nothing better on road trips..long or short. RIP..

Saw his son Duane Betts in concert and talked with him after the show. He related how Dickey took him everywhere on tour and he grew up literally on the road. Dickey was a great father.
Stay tuned and I’m going to post a YouTube of the best version of “One way out” that will blow you away. Got to get on my desktop.

Historic Rose Hill Cemetery is the final resting place of bandmates Gregg Allman, Duane Allman, Berry Oakley and Butch Trucks. Dickey Betts passed away recently on April 18, 2024. Jaimoe is the only surviving original ABB member, age 80, born 1944.
