It's a sad day for the Jukes, and those who followed the Jukes. Southside said he can no longer tour. I heard in early 2024 that he had some 'health issue' at a show and he got checked out at local hospital. Then maybe 60 days later or so some dates popped up on his site and one was Turning Stone Casino by Syracuse NY. It was a great show, brought back a ton of memories from when we would see him play at BB Kings in NYC or at the Seafood fest in NJ or even the low down Stone Pony in Ocean Township.
I firmly believe that John Lyon is not finished yet but will most likely have unannounced shows in local NJ joints like the Pony. If it's not a juke joint, you most likely won't see Johnny. Sucks when you get old, your mind feels like your 50 but at 75 your body says differently
