O.K., I think this topic begins and ends with this video.
I was half asleep very early yesterday "morning" 
and turned the T.V. on VH1 to "Metal Mania"......

Mullets galore? Check

Typical 80's chicks running around? Check

Dudes wearing Half-Shirts? Check

Dudes wearing Dolphin shorts? Check

.....and finally.....

lead singer firing an R.P.G. for no reason whatsoever? Check.....

and a robot appearing, also, for no reason whatsoever? Check!!!!

No Smoking
No Drinking
No Loitering
No Accordion Solos

or the RPG into the clowns mouth....   Classic stuff there

Oh come on! You don't think 25-30 years from now we're not going to be laughing at......... Oh wait, there aren't any real musicians or bands anymore. Everything's auto-tuned and computerized, and since when is a record spinning D.J. considered a "musician" O.K. maybe the Foo Fighters, but that's about it. Holy crap, I sound just like my dad!

80 s best time for music... love the hair metal bands.. sleeze bees ...spread eagle.. shotgun messiah.. old metal albums are worth alot of money plus old concert t shirts...

I grew up on this music in the 80's and only now in my wiser years, realize what a joke it was. It was fun at the time, but in hindsight, quite embarrassing. The antithesis of maturity.

There is plenty of great music today... it is all a matter of perspective and when you grow up (for most folks)

I love the 70's, the 80's, the 90's were really good IMO... and I do still love some of the new rock today.

Foo Fighters are AWESOME if you have not listened to their last (grammy winning) album you are missing out.

Black Keys sound good... anything with Jack White is usually really good.  New rock duo out of UK Royal Blood sound great to me.

But yes I loved the 80's.  I loved the hair bands (Tesla maybe the best?)  I had a 82 Grand Prix with t-tops... and a very loud stereo.  Good times.

80's forever ! Talent everywhere. People may laugh at some of the styles and the videos but there will never be a genre ever that was so talented vocally and getting the most out of their instruments ! Also musicianship was at an all time high even though there was a lot of drugs and alcohol involved. Nothing will compare to the 80's! The guitar solos of the 80's can never be duplicated again. Rock has become boring and amateurish since the early 90's. No energy unless you look to some of the European bands that are out there.
