First day on itunes and all their albums hit the top 10
My favorite band of all time.
These guys know what they're doing. With their 5th album "Fear Inoculum" ready to hit stores at the end of August.
Adam Jones says that most of the songs are in a 7 time signature, one in an 11 time signature("right in two" from Lateralus is), and one he considers a 21, which is divisible by 7.
Truly great music if you haven't ever listened to them. Everything they do has meaning. They are perfectionists, they are mathematical, and don't just write a tune to write a tune. The lyrics are deep, Maynard tries to teach life. There's no bs in their songs.
I've seen em at least 10 times in my lifetime, first time was in 1998 and I've been hooked ever since.
If you are a drummer and don't know who Daney Carey is, then you can't call yourself a drummer.
I'm hoping this thread is seen by the younger generation out there. Put em on and enjoy(you will). And if you are a musician yourself, you will learn something new just from listening.

Welp, having already listened to the album multiple times, they've murdered it: the breakdowns, the transitions, the riffs, but most importantly the drumming, Danny went ape $hit on this one, overkill would be an understatement.
The Magnum Opus of the album is 7empest, Tool in it's purest form and Adam losing his goddamn mind on it.
Btw Sac, they tour the states in Oct and Nov, they'll come to you, so you'll have the chances to see them again, check the tickets...

Can't stop listening to Pneuma and Invincible myself.
On 7empest, man do they go rock n roll on it. It's still metal, it's still "Tool", but I get an old school rock vibe from it. It also draws the older Tool sound from Opiate and Undertow imo.
The drumming from front to back is just incredible.
Vocally, Maynard is drawn back from screams and intense stuff(not that he needs to). A perfect blend with the music. I can see him having good performances live on tour. The man doesn't need anymore stress on his vocal chords considering how many concerts he's done in his lifetime between 3 bands.
