I really am wanting that DVD of Live Aid. I'm assuming that they have every single artist's performance over that whole deal and all the different venues, and not the way I had to watch it live.
I was in college then, working in a restaurant, and almost quit to see every minute they showed on TV. I should have.
What an event. I still don't think Bob Geldof gets the credit that he deserves for his huge role in putting it all together.
They interviewed Bowie afterwards, and he talked about somehow doing something like that for charity by a large set of mostly the top performers for the benefit of the World's needful people.
That sure fizzled quickly.
Clearly, I believe we should at least be able to get a group together of U.S. based bands/artists to do a yearly thing to feed our own peoplein the U.S. and help the homeless and homeless that are mentally ill that are on the streets. No one should be without shelter and be hungry.
Here's an idea. Right before we start bulding another billion dollar fighter jet that we certainly don't need another of,......
.......... take that billion and solve a huge amount of our domestic homeless, mentally ill homeless, and hungry people.

I saw them during the Night Of the Opera tour, long time ago. My buddy and I decided that we wouldn't get stoned or drink cause we really wanted to appriciate what we were about to see. Till this day, one of the best performances I have ever seen. Most likely cause I can remember it.

Gut, I can relate. To this day, I am still disappointed with myself about my being way too hammered at a few concerts in college that I regret greatly not being more coherent.

Everybody who was anybody in music performed at this benefit. Black Sabbath, Dire Straights, Elton John, Madonna, Bowie,Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, U2, Queen, The Who, Sting, and many many more.
This was such a huge event with so many great artist. I spent that whole day Saturday July 13th 1985 just watching and enjoying such a huge event that may never again be equaled. What an amazing day that was. I will be scanning you tube to see more.
