For the most part, I'm into alt rock like Nine Inch Nails, Metallica and Tool but, I must confess, I have two guilty pleasures:
WHAM!.
Say what you want about George Michael, but the man knew how to write a pop song back when. If the troika of "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go", "Careless Whisper" and "I'm Your Man" isn't the closest thing to pop nirvana, then I don't know what is.
SPICE GIRLS
Yes, I admit it. I love the Spice Girls (let the bashing begin). I know they were a marketing creation set up by the record companies but, goddammit, they had some catchy songs! "Wannabe" is a pop classic and "Stop!" is just an all around great song. Between listening to an hour of the garbage that passes for Top 40 radio these days or being forced to listen to Spice Girls for 24 hours non-stop, I choose the Spice Girls each and every time.
Now dennishopson has already confessed to liking Sheena Easton (I'm thinking KC And The Sunshine Band or David Cassidy are his guilty pleasures), Mikael likes Belinda Carlisle and gers probably has *NSYNC posters hidden in his closet, so let's hear everyone elses.
And don't worry: we're not here to pass judgment upon you...
