A little off week discussion. The schedule buzz now is all about which tracks get dates in 2011 and what the Chase will look like in 2011. My interest is about the 2012 season. The NFL owners are in favor of an 18 week season without changing the 1st games date. With this in mind, the Superbowl will be backed up 2 weeks and in direct conflict with the Daytona 500. Not to mention the conflict of Superbowl Week vs. Speed Week. Will NASCAR try to butt heads with the Super Bowl? That's a loose, loose. What options do they have? Less bye weeks? Later season, conflicting with Thanksgiving wouldn't be good. Your thoughts?

Shoot Googs...... Thats way to far down the road for me bro.
I don't think the NFL can get in 18 without shortening pre season and starting a week or two early. As far as butting heads with the Super Bowl....You are 100 % correct that is a lose lose proposition for Nascar. What would be great is to have Daytona fall the week before the Super Bowl when there isn't anything going on other than cbb.
I will say if the 500 and the Super Bowl did go Head to Head I think they should start the race at 11 am, that way they would be done by Super Bowl start time. But......If I had to choose, It would be hands down the Daytona 500 baby!
