At this point it's hard to say what unexpected circumstances will come from these changes but I must say everything I heard at yesterdays press conference sounded great to me. Should problems arise France and Helton have shown they know how to listen to the fans and make the right changes.

Think you got to like that new qualifying procedure where the qualifying order will be set based on slowest to fastest practice speeds.
This will open up a new door to qualifying match ups. Nothing worse than have a match up and your driver is the first to go out. They slammed the door on luck of the draw!

Agree 100% and love the wild card final two spots being awarded to the two drivers with the most wins outside the top 10.
I think this will make a chase inside the race for the chase as far as the last two in. So really, the top 10 or so in points will be racing one another for points to make the playoffs and everyone else will say to hell with the points and try to win at all cost to sew up one of the last 2 spots no matter how far behind they are....
Under this system, I think McMurray may have made the chase last year,
Its gonna be good boys....can't wait!

I love the new changes and I think this was a step in the right direction. I agree about the Q matchups which makes the guessing game a lot easier now. Can't wait.

it would be huge for Nascar for him to win one race and maybe Letarte can help that but at the same time one can ask Letarte couldn't get Gordon to VL and Junior isn't at that talent level so what makes you that confident? Just asking as my best friend who passed away was a huge Junior fan and having Junior win would be a feel good story for me.

MLB....I will agree 100% Jr isn't quite the same caliber of driver as Gordon used to be but if you are counting wins......I think Jeffie has only won 1 race in 90 something starts??? Don't quote that exact but its close. Gordon is getting up there in yrs and may have lost a step or two but for consistency Gordon wins hands down..
I think Jr is more aggresive than Gordon when he has the right set up and is more apt to mix it up on the plate tracks to where Gordon is a little more conservative and a little more laid back and I think thats why he's not winning.Hes point racing.
Letarte cost Gordon a win or two last year but look how close they were week in and week out.
Trust me...If he can get Jr that close....He will be in victory lane without a doubt in my mind. The problem will be, if he can get Jr that close? It is so tough to win in cup its unreal. Newman, who I consider a great race car driver finally broke his 70 or 80 something win streak last year while McMurray won 3 or 4 damn races...Go figure.

There was talk earlier of shorting some of the races. And a few drivers agreed there should be something done. But I`ve not heard anything as of lately if any thing is to come of it.
Think they should put the knife to Pocono for sure and would like to see shorter races in Daytona, Talledaga and Charlotte 600.
Anyone else got an opinion?

NO, NO, NO, and NO. The one thing they shouldn't screw with is race distances. Keep every race exactly the length it is. Shorten the 600? You can't be F'N serious?

yea this race is over 4 hours long and the week before they run the Showdown and the Allstar race.
Maybe still pissed cause they took away Rockingham and North Wilksboro in the same state. And Humpy throws 2 million at a Allstar race. When we could be running at another track.
Respect your opinion but to be honest by the time they have 2 or three practices for the Showdown then have 2 or 3 practice for the Allstar race then run the races, then have 2 or 3 practices for the 600 .And they do that qualifying with pitstops on Thursday By the time the race comes on, I`ve seen enough.
