Championship odds

Question

Seems like the forum is getting a little slow.

I was looking at the schedule for the Chase, and here are the tracks...

Chicago, New Hampshire, Dover, Charlotte, Kansas, Talledega, Martinsville, Texas, Phoenix, Homestead.

It sure looks like a two man race at this point between Harvick and Truex. Especially with those tracks. Truex at +650 seems like a pretty good price. Anyone else see another contender?

I would probably include the #48 in that race for the championship as well.

As far as +650 being a good price for Truex I would look elsewhere besides dimes he was +1200 just last week and is still +1000 at other shops. I would imagine they took a decent amount of $ on him earlier at +1500 and better and are trying to even out the numbers there. Same thing with Kurt Busch, he opened the year +4000, was +6000 when he returned from his suspension, and dropped to +600 after his first win.

With the new Chase system I don't see his odds getting too much lower, Harvick is still sitting at +400.. I think come Chase time the odds on favorites will be around the same price.

I can&#x27;t remember where I saw that number off the top off my head and the odds are down on some books due to practice already. Possibly bookmaker??  Not sure where your at but here are the updated Vegas odds for the championship. Usually the offshore books are a little better (until they get bet on) but like I mentioned I think truex took some serious money at big odds earlier in the year. Wish I had laid some $ on him for sure, but I&#x27;m not big on championship bets you get better odds race by race.. I mistakenly bet Kahne and Truex to win the Championship instead of the race before Charlotte, so I am sitting on a Truex ticket at 20/1. Starting to look a lot better for me. I think we go into Homestead with Logano, Truex, Hamlin and Harvick.

I think I would be one of the few who thinks Harvick actually has value. You know he will run strong enough to be in it at Phoenix, and you know he will win Phoenix, getting him in to Homestead.

[/Quote]I made that mistake with Newman at 11-1 last year and it damn near payed off for me..I have to agree about Harvick having value at &#x2B;400 the uncertainty of the chase is keeping his number up.  I am waiting until the chase begins to place my bets on the favorites as you may be able to get better numbers as each round plays out. Last year I picked up Harvick at &#x2B;750 before the Phoenix chase race, a race he almost had to win to advance. Plus dimes opened up parlay-able championship odds late in the chase!For me this year I saw early value in the Busch brothers Kurt at &#x2B;4000, &#x2B;6000, and Kyle &#x2B;3500 for the Championship.

Jimmie at &#x2B;675 is still a good bet, the 48 team pretty much admitted they are using the rest of the regular season as a test season. Biffle and Bowyer have no chance.

I am interestedto see what the cars will do after the changes they are making starting at Kentucky.  Generally the cream rises to the top and I expect that to be the case.  But I think we need to see what happens.  4, 48,41 are on it right now.  Lets see where they are at after a few races with new package.  Still feel the PRS cars are going to be there, doing some testing right now.I agree with Stats.  78 pulling out all the new cars now while the others will bring thsm out when it counts.  Time will tell but I cant wait for RRest of season.    I love Road Course Racing!

Just noticed as I posted that, as Kurts odds dropped the majority of the other drivers increased. Most noticeably Keselowski went from +900 to +1350 after the bye week. The books way of saying we took enough money on Kurt, put your money on these other drivers!

As far as the Rule change starting in Kentucky that is only for that race from what I have read. I can see them trying the new rules package down the road at another non-chase track but I doubt they up and change everything over half way through the season coming up on the Chase
