My train wreck of a summer season continued last week at Daytona. I seriously might skip Dega in the fall. I don't know if drawing names out of a hat would even work at a plate track.
This week on to more normal racing, although I've had a slow leak there for about a month as well. Going back to basics that built that roll up to 20 units early in the season, and that's looking for value and playing some dogs. On these today:
Kyle +130 over Kurt: Don't see Kyle this deep a dog often. Hopefully he's not going in the tank after crashing two of the last three weeks. The 2 was better in practice, but Kyle has slightly better avg. finish last few trips. Kyle in the Snikcermobile this week, didn't have a silver choice so we'll go with the candy wrapper.
Reutimann +100 over Truex: The 00 looked better in practice, and has finished 12 and 14th around a blown engine two years ago.
Kahne +110 over Burton: this could be a tough one, but Kahne looked pretty good in practice and is hot, finished 3rd last year. Overall avg. finish close, take the dog.
Dale Jr. +140 over Martin: simple reason here, Jr. is hot, the old man is not. 5 car looked much better in practice, but overall avg. finish is close so going with the current form at a big price.
Juan Pablo -115 over McMurray: somebody must have pounded this as I was getting around to betting it, went from even money on my screen to -115 by confirmation time. Sticking with it, JPM looked very nice in practice. Has been decent here compared to Jamie's avg finish of 30th the last 4 races.
That's it for me. Heading down to Northern VA this afternoon, hanging out for a buddy's birthday tonight, golf in the AM and BBQ'n tomorrow afternoon. GL to everyone today, fade away on the above!!

If you look at the practice times Kyle never improved on his times. All the JGR cars are off a few tenths. Kyle showed his ass last year by blowing up the engine in his car becuase the car set up was not working for him. Soon after that Steve Addington was remove as crew cheif. If you look at the number of laps ran in the first practice Kurt was 10th overall. All the teams used the first practice for there happy hour. Happy hour was used for qualifiying set up. Most teams ran 5 laps. 11 car on ran 10 laps in happy hour. Just my thoughts.
