Some of you are in the golf forum and know about the great contest that CMJohnson puts on. I talked with him, and got his blessing on my idea to do a similar contest here in the NASCAR forum that I will put on. Since it was his idea, the contest will be called
The CMJ NASCAR Challenge
We will give it a test run when the Chase starts here in a few weeks, so the first contest will be 10 weeks long, and if it goes over well, I'll do it again next year…maybe we all throw a couple bucks or some prizes in for the winner.
Here are the rules which we will do. **If you're in the golf forum, pay attention because I don't want to totally rip off CMJ, and I'm going to do a couple things different**
Each race, you will pick 2 drivers. One driver will be the driver that you think will have the best finish. The other driver will be the driver that you think will have the worse finish. You have to specify which driver you want to be your best finish, and what driver you want to be the worse finish.
For Example: Your picks for the first race might be: Jimmie Johnson, Joe Nemchek with Jimmie being the best finish, and Nemechek being the worse finish.
The points awarded will work like this. If there are 42 drivers entered in the race then that will be the maximum points that each driver can earn.
If your best driver finishes first, you earn 42 points. Second earns 41, third earns 40 and so on. If your worse driver finishes 42nd, you earn 42 points. 41st earns 41 points, 40th earns 40 points and so on. The two point totals are combined and that will be your score for the week. If your best driver wins, you get a 5 point bonus. If your worse driver finishes last you get a 5 point bonus. However, if your best driver finishes last you get a -5 point deduction. If your worse driver wins you get a -5 point deduction.
I will use NASCAR.com to determine official race results. If one of your cars fails inspection, your driver will be scored as a 0.

You can make your picks anytime after qualifying, and before the green flag, but YOU CAN ONLY PICK A DRIVER ONCE THROUGHOUT THE SEASON!!! Once you pick a driver, you can't use him anymore in that category. However, you can pick a driver once in each category.
Each week post your picks from previous weeks so I can keep track of what drivers have been used, and which ones haven't. I recommend keeping your drivers on a Word Document or something like that and then copy and paste every week. Keep your best and worse drivers separated as well.
For example, for the fifth week your posted picks should look something like this:
BEST: Jimmie Johnson, Brad K, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon WORSE: Landon Cassill, Danica, Nemechek, Trevor Bayne
Picks this week: BEST: Clint Bowyer WORSE: Michael Annett

For fun I think we should name the BEST and WORSE drivers after some classic drivers. So instead of picking your BEST driver, you're picking your "AYRTON SENNA drivers (after the F1 icon). Maybe for the WORSE driver you're picking your HIRO MATSUSHITA driver (after the Indy Car disaster who was nicknamed "King Hiro" and "The Moving Chicane").
Submit your drivers who you think these divisions should be named after, and let's have some fun with it.

I'm sure there will be lots of questions, and suggestions, but try not to overload me. This is the first time trying this so bear with me. Hopefully we get some good participation on this one and can build it up for next season.
