It's finally here. The longest 3 months of the year are over, lets go racing!
Not a big fan of betting plate races so going small for the most part today.
Match-Ups
1.00 unit Kasey Kahne (+110) over Jimmie Johnson (@thegreek)
KK has looked stout throughout Speedweek's and early on it looks like the switch over to Ford and the new engine package has helped this team. Has been a pretty consistent Top 10 finisher here in the past and I like his chances here today not just to beat the Champ but also a shot at the win.
1.00 unit David Ragan (-120) over Martin Truex (@5dimes)
Ragan is one one of my picks for comeback driver of the year (along with Kyle). Had a disaster of a season in 2009 but through all that still had good runs on the plate tracks. The last three races here he has posted a 13th, a 6th and a 5th place run. Believe he has a legit shot at Top 10 today and like his chances versus Truex and his first race with a new team.
1.00 unit Kurt Busch (-105) over Denny Hamlin (@thegreek)
Hope Kurt has used up all his bad luck by race day. Its been a tough two weeks for this team.
But can't overlook his past performance at super speedways, especially here. He has not finished outside the Top 10 at Daytona in his last 5 starts (4 of those were Top 5's). Hamlin has only one finish better than 17th here (it was his last start however) in 8 tries and an average finish of 23.8.
1.00 unit Matt Kenseth (-115) over Jamie McMurray (@5dimes)
Kenseth has been consistent at Daytona with 4 Top 10's in the last 5 including winning this race last year. Performed well in the draft during practice on Saturday and could be a threat to repeat on Sunday.
McMurray has looked good at times the past week but has been inconsistent his entire career.
1.00 unit Clint Bowyer (-105) over Greg Biffle (@5dimes)
Bowyer is a darkhorse contender for the win, and just not crazy about Biffle at a plate track.
