Most of the faster lap times at the last practice were cars running qualifying laps and not in race trim.
Mark Martin wasn't happy with his car and I think he posted the fastest lap on the post.
JP Montoya wasn't happy with his car, his teammate Jamie McMurray really hated his.
Truex said he had never felt a car drive like his did... In the worst way. As of Friday night I'd bet against him. Very frustrated #56 team.
31 car ran some very goof laps but Jeff Burton complained about only bring able to run one line around the track.
The 27 car ran well and so did the Childress guys. They sounded confident and were tweaking cars with smaller changes.
Most of the chase contenders were quiet on the radio but I sensed frustration from the 24 and 48 and confidence from the Roush guys. The 24 car struggled early but seemed to improve a little toward the end of practice. 48 was short and "dickish".
22 car sounded like they were solid and putting together a nice top 5 sorta car. Usually Kurt sounds more pessimistic, but he seemed to like his car.
Junior was happy early and grew more frustrated as things went on.
Regan's car seemed to get worse as practice went on too. "all four wheels were chattering"
Newman didn't like his ride, could only run one line and wasn't great at the one.
Stewart all hush hush as usual.
43 was his usual Dover good, maybe if he caught a break once he could win this race.
No pressure on 20 car it seems, laid back, maybe a 7th place car?
Kyle and Denny, not much to report.

Thanx clepto. Posting from an iPhone stinks, kill for my laptop. Regan... Meant David Ragan, not Regan Smith.
It's raining like shit, not the little 40% shower they were calling for. The track will be green Saturday morning. Without any more rain it should rubber up for the 2pm Busch Race with qualifying and a couple hours of Cup practice. It will be cooler and cloudier than the warm and sunny Friday practice.
Tony usually brings a tenth to fifteenth place car to Dover lately and drives it into 8th.
That K&R race was the best NASCAR racing I've seen at Dover in a decade. Those kids drove door to door all afternoon. I listened to bill Elliott spot for Chase until he crashed and listened to this #6 Wallace kid run from the back to front after a fender rub. I think he passed 40something cars in 150 laps. Very impressed by this guy, he's for real.

Looselugs, Bayne was faster than Stenhouse, they told him not to pass the 16 for the extra point.
Shit race, when Edwards lapped twelfth place Steve Wallace leaving mostly Cup regulars and 200 laps of nothing happening... NASCAR should know this series is broken and boring.
Was there any Cup practice today? The track sounded silent until 11 when they ran nationwide and cup qualifying that ran directly into the 3:30 race. If they did I missed it.

It just struck me that the best two exciting and competitive races this weekend didn't involve any Cup drivers.
It's fucking cold and misting every so often, the race doesnt start til 2pm, the drivers talk about not being able to pass, the crowd is late arriving or very light and I expect to see record low empty seats today. And for the good news... The beer doesn't need ice and I'll take a stab with Kenseth. Roush is fast. Kenseth has been quiet. He's got the "do it for Katie" storyline after his wife got beat up in wreck during a NASCAR wives' charity race.

cleared almost 300 at 1/2 no limit in dover's poker room. i think fit in nicely with the local players and whoever came to the table wearing a nascar hat or tshirt was happily welcomed. i highly recommend playing poker here on nascar weekends. play premiums, play tight and you will get paid.
this was the coldest race since i saw kenny wallace win the "spring" richmond busch race in the red dog beer car two weeks after the daytona 500.
when i woke up and saw truex on the pole i was flabbergasted, but he must of hit a miracle lap because his true colors showed quickly, getting lapped around lap 94. whew, that scared me.
i'm thinking about skipping dover next year and spend my cash on a different track. dover is getting boring. unless it's a top tier car that had a bad pit stop or took a penalty, there's no passing. 4 tires can't even pass 2 tires. advancing your car on green is next to impossible. dover is a giant merry-go-round. it used to be just the cup race, but it's spread to the saturday race too. the qualifying speeds are all so close, the cars handle too well. i suggest they make the tires harder and less grippy or knock down the spoiler to nothing and get these car out of control. saw a lot of empty front stretch seats this year, they better do something before they lose a race date when rockingham comes calling.
stewart was awful, gordon, hamlin and harvick really struggled. gordon said on the radio, "our car is not bad, its just all the other cars are just a little better", so to be 15th or 20th meant your car wasnt much worse then the top 5. which means to me dover is almost unbettable, all you can do is find value, place your bets and hope you catch a break, get your car in clean air and luck into a win.
not sure what they showed on tv but kyle busch was running well early and hit something that bent his spoiler in an unfixable way. he did well to finish where he did.
no good crashes at all this weekend? just a couple one car spins? a couple equipment failures? i don't need it, but sometimes it helps.
see ya next time.
