Real quick, iOS 6 is killing my wifi.
Cars that sounded confident on the scanner,
24, fastest lap time aside, Jeff sounded real happy. His complaints were mild and tweaking was minor.
20, Joey sounded confident. He kept his car lower than most even on longer practice runs. Still buyer beware, he's never aggressive enough to win here at Dover. Maybe pole qualifying and matchup bets for this guy.
18, struggled early, was making some big changes, shocks and stuff, but seemed very happy at the end of practice. The last thing he said after practice was "this is interesting".
11, out of all the Gibbs cars he made the fewest laps. Quiet on the radio, making small changes. You know he's got the best stuff of this team.
15, bitched and complained, as usual, but watching his driving lines making laps his car looked good. I almost didn't suggest Clint but he looked sneaky good to me.
Not sure about,
48, I'd be surprised if he wasn't good Sunday, but from what I heard from jimmy and chad I wasn't sure if they liked what they had coming out of Friday or not. Most the changes made didn't excite Johnson. The guy rules Dover in the fall. Dunno.
88, sounded like they'd be happy leaving Dover with a top 7 car. Not too negative, but it seemed like the changes they were making were grasping instead of fine tuning.
The Roush Fords, 99 and 17 were off, what a difference from last year's confidence. 16 had a positive attitude about his practice from what I heard.
31, hated his car at all points, seemed defeated at the end.
51, sounded awful, passing around compliments about "doing the best with what we had", moral victory stuff.
29, sounded like a 6th to 10th place car IMO.
It's raining away the rubber from the track Friday night. Those few running by themselves up in the higher grove, like Kayne, will hope for dry weather after the "Busch" race.
