Had a great time in Vegas...out of 450 teams, we are now the 4th best Trampoline Dodgeball team in North America. Unbelievable athletes in this tournament...you guys wouldn't believe it (me not included). To everyone that saw my post on being on TV, I said my phrases (big shout out to JJ Yeley and my nascar buddies)...not sure if it will make the airwaves, but we'll see. Ok...here's my story.
Sunday night in Vegas I went into the Harrah's sportsbook. The Loudon race had been over for several hours, but they still had the NASCAR lines posted on their boards. I went up to the counter (I may or may have not had a few cocktails in my system), and asked if they were still taking bets on the race. A younger guy, who obviously didn't have a clue about the race, shrugged his shoulders and told me that as long as it was on the board they were taking bets. I took out every dollar I had on me and asked to put $300 on Matt Kenseth to win. He took my money, and printed out the ticket. He looked at it funny, and said, "When does this race start?". I said I didn't know and that I just saw the odds on the board and thought Kenseth had a good car today. He looked at it again...smiled, and then started laughing...then he ripped it up and said "Nice try". I said, "You can't blame me...it's posted". He gave me my money back, and that was that. I ALMOST made a winning bet on the winner of a race that had been over for hours.
Me and my buddies had a long discussion as to what the casino would've done if I had gone to cash that ticket. We still don't know what they would've done if I would've had that ticket in hand. Thoughts?
