Richmond afterthoughts and forward into the chase.
*47 was good, their building better cars and Ambrose is learning how to finish races.
*maybe someday they let Logano win a race under green.
*Montoya destroys equipment, he'll win a couple, but he'll kill the chances for some great race cars that deserve better finishes.
*go to Richmond next year, tickets are easy, got two towers for 40 bucks a pop for Saturday, Friday is Pick-Your-Price.
*who was that kid in the 83 car? maybe it was lost in Swedish translation but he had to ask which way counterclockwise was, other than not knowing "left" and completely pissing off Boyer, he had a decent rookie start.
*with any luck Boyer could have swept this weekend's races, but he wins "biggest crybaby/whiner" in Nascar, no contest.
*the 88 is terrible, they came in happy with their setup and they ran like trash.
*no matter what they have, no matter what they say... don't bet against Gibbs at Richmond, i listened to Kyle a lot Saturday night, that was barely a top 15 car when they dropped the green flag, they worked hard and smart to make it fast at the end.
*Roush and Hendrick aren't coming into the Chase with much confidence, Gordon was really frustrated, Johnson and Knaus aren't used to having no answers and settling for 3rd place, they seem beaten, but we all know it's all different in the playoffs, Biffle is baffled, Kenseth has always been low key and chilled out on the radio but there's absolutely no spark in the team, there was a few points this weekend when the communication between Matt and his crew chief were "off", like after he turned his laps on Friday nobody told him his times and no "P12", so he asks, "did i have a qualifying time?"... silence, "hello?"... "oh, you ran a 34", it ticked him off a little and there was no "how was the car?" or "what did you think" conversations, long story short... it was like they didn't want to be there. I'm not sure about the 99, Edwards seems confident, he's saying the right things and they're running more up front, but those cars just aren't the top shelf rides that win championships.
*the 14, 29, 33, 31 and 2 are all so average, it will take extreme good luck for any of these to win the 2010 Chase.
*Kyle melts down this year again? i'm not so sure, he still has his moments, but he's working well with Dave Rogers, he doesn't take Kyle's shit personally. Hamlin comes in loaded with bonus points and confidence, his knee is better, as soon as he took the checkers last night he spoke about the Chase, not the win.
*if you don't pick the 11, 18 or 48... you're gambling.
