I've never had has much action on one event as I do tonight. Just couldn't bring myself to cut any of my potential plays so I'm definitely playing with fire having this many at a place like Bristol.
However, win big or lose big I absolutely love this place, nothing like BMS and THE night race.
Match-Ups (all 1.50 unit plays)
Jeff Gordon (-110) over Jimmie Johnson (@thegreek)
Feeling Gordon again this week just hope that back of his holds up
Jeff Gordon (+100) over Carl Edwards (@thegreek)
Carl has looked like junk so far this weekend, still think they may get the car competitive but not sure if he can challenge for the win like I believe Jeff will
Tony Stewart (-125) over Carl Edwards (@5dimes)
Smoke hasn't looked very good this weekend either but I've seen this group put the pieces together often this year, a lot more confidence with this team this weekend over Edwards' Roush team
Tony Stewart (+125) over Kyle Busch (@sportsbook.com)
I know a lot of people like Kyle this week, with him in a must perform well situation (maybe a must win situation) in terms of the Chase. Thats the very reason I'm going against him. In pressure situations he always seems to press the issue and force things too much resulting in mistakes. Kyle is best when he has you down and then gives you another kick.
Mark Martin (-110) over Kyle Busch (thegreek)
Don't look now but the "kid" has a good shot at adding another W.
Ryan Newman (+120) over Matt Kenseth (@thegreek)
Actually expect Kenseth to do fairly well tonight, hes in the same spot Kyle Busch is in, but like the value with Newman. He has done his best this year on short tracks(3 Top 7 finishes in 3 starts)
Clint Bowyer (+100) over Greg Biffle (@thegreek)
Bowyer is another short track ace and his team looks to be peaking at the right time, think this guy is Chase bound
Dale Earnhardt Jr. (+125) over Kasey Kahne (@thegreek)
This one may be close. If Kahne and RPM has their stuff together they could be Top 5 but I'm looking for a breakout run from Jr. tonight if he can stay out of trouble. Looks like he is starting to click with crew chief Lance McGrew
Juan Pablo Montoya (-135) over Brian Vickers (@sportsbook.com)
Vickers has been on a roll but Bristol has never been a good track for him(best finish was 12th in spring of 2005 and has 8 finishes of 20th or worse in 10 starts). JPM is just getting better and better everytime he shows up at a track, finished 9th here in the spring and his worst finish on a short track this year was 12th.
Props
1.50 units Jeff Gordon (-115) under 9.5 (@sportsbook.com)
1.50 units Tony Stewart (-115) under 9.5 (@sportsbook.com)
Think both of these guys are more than capable of a Top 10
1.50 units Kevin Harvick (-115) under 15.5 (@sportsbook.com)
Think this guy is a sleeper for tonight, RCR is slowly but surely putting the pieces together
Outrights
0.50 unit Jeff Gordon (+1200) @sportsbook.com
0.50 unit Tony Stewart (+1000) @sportsbook.com
0.50 unit Clint Bowyer (+1100) @thegreek
0.25 unit Dale Jr (+2000) @sportsbook.com
0.25 unit Kevin Harvick (+3000) @sportsbook.com
0.25 unit Juan Pablo Montoya (+3000) @sportsbook.com
It was tough Keeping Martin off this list but needed better odds to fit him in.
May lose my ass tonight with this many plays but either way I'm going to enjoy myself, this race and Darlington are the two highlights of the year for me. Just sorry I wasn't able to go, it will seem strange watching it on TV.
Good luck to everybody!
