And yes, when they raced at IRP (it'll always be IRP to me), it was probably the most exciting Nationwide race of the year. Instead of building on that, the George family, who owns the Indy 500 track and are bound and determined to ruin every race there, got their miserable, dirty, greedy, mislead, short-sighted, uninformed, out of touch, ignorant, out of the loop, selfish, narcissistic, egomaniacal, stingy, shallow, naive, oblivious, birdbrained, uncultured, witless, dense, deceptive, scamming, cheating, dishonest, immoral, two faced, lying hands on the successful Nationwide race, and managed to make that race the most unwatchable race at the Indy 500 track. Nice work guys. But then again, from someone who's lived here my whole life...I would expect nothing but the worse from those assh*les.
And before someone says "Oh you don't know what goes on behind closed doors, you don't know how the operate". I actually do. I do business with one of their other entities that works directly with them so I have lots of information on them. Here's a fun fact:
One of their relatives was on the payroll full-timed salaried as the helicopter pilot. The company sold the helicopter, and he remained a full time salaried person as the helicopter pilot for three years, and during those three years he made a grand total of 0 flights because...it's hard to fly a helicopter when there is no helicopter. During those three years they laid off other employees to free up money because several aspects of the track were operating at a loss. They're just great people through and through.
I also had the pleasure of waiting tables many years ago (when I first graduated college) and heard the stories of the George family and their "generosity" in gratuities, and then I got to experience that "generosity" for myself one night when I waited on them. Real peachy group of people.
