I personally think this is a gift, or maybe the oddsmakers were having a hangover when they capped this one. Don't know why a CLEV that has beaten the crap out of NYK in their past 3 meetings last year is just -5.5 against NY. CLEV has done well without Delonte so far, and NYK is overpowered at the 3 and 5 spots. LeBron big game = CLEV covers far and above the spread. The Cleveland ATS train has started to roll again; get on it while the lines vs it are low!
LAL -8
LAL is on a b2b, but so is TOR. Am not gonna take a dispirited TOR team who's 9-14 SU and 7-15-1 ATS on their own home floor. After getting booed by his own home fans so many times, Bosh might just be going through the motions this season, in light of their nonexistent playoff chances. After watching an undersized 8-man MIL rotation build up an 18-pt lead over them (with Bogut playing only 16 mins last Jan 30), I'm sold on taking most NBA teams against TOR.
OKC +4.5
Fan bet (13-6 YTD on them). Also, DEN's on a b2b. Further, OKC's 10-5 ATS so far in January. OKC can stay close with this DEN team now that they're rested. Chauncey Billups sprained his ankle last game vs the Spurs, so he won't be 100%—if he plays at all. Without Chauncey, this is even more of a grab, as there are no other pg's on the Nugs. Anthony Carter? Hmm...more like an undersized shooting guard. No Billups = less offensive flow for DEN.
DAL -4.5
Rarely bet on DAL, as I lost all respect for No-wins-ki after the 2006 Finals debacle. That said, the Mavs have been playing well of late, History is on DAL's side too: From NBA.com—"Portland has lost 16 of their last 18 games in Dallas, including 10 straight since a 100-93 victory on Jan. 26, 2003. Portland has dropped each of its last four games at American Airlines Center by double figures, posting an average margin of defeat of 17.0" After reviewing POR's season record, I saw that they're 1-4 ATS after a road win. Lastly, a POR team that could be down by as much as 20pts to an undesized NOH team last game that doesn't have an inside presence tells me much about POR's chances with a healthy DAL team, which seems to have started a win streak recently.
Your views most welcome, gentlemen.
