3 Humbled NBA Play$

2 - 3 last night

First losing night in a while.  Doesn't feel good.  Won with Bulls -7 and Thunder ML(whew).  Lost with Warriors-1, Dal/Mem ML parlay and Ind/Min OVER 214.  Going to have 3 plays tonight. 

Loving Phoenix/Denver OVER 215 tonight.  Totals in two meetings this season were 138 - 133 and 138 - 92.  A 3rd meeting was 100 - 92.  Doesn't scare me.  The Suns have scored 100+ pts in 11 straight games.  Aaron Afflalo could miss the game with a hamstring injury and that means JR Smith could get the start.  He dropped 30 points in that 138 - 133 game(Carmello 2pts).  They would be adding offense and losing defense with Afflalo out.  Like the play either way, if he plays or not.  The key will be Vince Carter.  J Rich has killed the Nuggets this year and he will need to replace that production.  He has been off but I like him to play BIG on TNT.  Both teams should get over 110+ but i'll take 216pts.

Going with the Lakers -2. Don't need to say much about the Heat.  Obviously struggling lately and the Lakers are not what they need right now.  A little scared because the line is so low but this has to based on two things, the fact the Heat destroyed the Lakers on Christmas Day and the fact that people believe the "Big Three" could turn it on at any time.  I'm not buying either one.  Lakers were getting beat by everyone in the first half of the season and the Big Three are more like the three stooges right now.  Lakers' size will dominate this game and you know Kobe going to get his.  How could you not take the Lakers here?

the laker situation. The Lakers look really good coming into this. Huge recent trends. & you have a giant revenge angle.

The problem i have is that the situation looks too easy. Just a 2 point line on a hot team vs cold team. Either the line is way off or its a sucker bet.

Meanwhile Miami's need to win this game is 10X more voracious then the lakers need to get revenge. You have some of the best talent in the NBA in a desperate situation.

One thing about the TNT games is that the conventional wisdom, the easy play, the public favorite, typically fails. I would take the heat in this bad looking spot or pass.

I hear ya!  The line does seem a bit fishy considering how bad the Heat have been and how good the Lakers are looking but, sometimes you just gotta go with who you think will cover.  GL

one more thing humbled then i'll shut up...the show has not faced a good defense in their current run. All the defenses were either average or outright awful. My feeling is that we are going to see a grinder & not the pretty baskets we've been seeing lately.

True but right now the Heat are not a good defensive team either.  If the Lakers play ball the way they have been playing, the undersized Heat cannot stop them.  No chance.  If Lakers come to play, they win by 5+.  This is not Christmas day
