1-1 last night losing juice with Atlanta not playing in the
4th. What a last quarter show for the Piss-tons recovering from
their humiliating 4th quarter meltdown last Saturday against the
Raptors at home. I didn’t see that angle coming. Anyway, glad to have wagered
on the Rockets to have recovered a bit. Now, going to our play tonight. I got
only 1 play. Last Monday, the Bucks finally ended the Mavericks’ winning streak
in Dallas. I guess number 13 was pretty unlucky for the the Mavs. Tonight
Portland comes in to town and is really not a good spot for them as the Mavs
are looking for redemption to bounce back after that loss at home last Monday
that should have been win number 13th. On the other hand, Portland
coming into this game has this same let down angle of that game 2 Fridays ago
at Verizon against the lowly Wizards. Portland coming in that game was in their
last end of a 4-game road trip, 4th game in 6 nights losing all 4 and
just wanted to go home, have a days rest and face the Clippers on which they have
won and then won 3 more, 2 at home against Phoenix and Orlando and 1 on the
road in Phoenix. Now, Portland in this game, is also in their last end of a
4-game road trip and also on their 4th game in 6 nights. They only
got a win in Phoenix and then lost the next 2 in San Antonio and in Memphis. I
think that same angle could be applied for them here because after this game, they would travel back home, have a days rest and prepare for a game
against Minnesota which they can actually win. Dirk will get his 3rd
straight 30+ game and Butler will bounce back in this game as he struggled in
that game against the Bucks scoring only 9 points, way below his average of
16.5 ppg. Marion, Barea and Terry will have their usual contributions off the
bench. Another key to this game is Tyson Chandler, if he plays well then this
will be an easy win for the Mavs. Still, a strong let down angle for Portland
will be the ticket for this win and cover. The play is Dallas. I hope we cash
this tonight. Good luck to everyone!
