Adjustments I would make for the Mavs

Mavs have a lot they need to adjust for this next game but here are a few I would focus on:

1. Similar to how Boston is playing guys 1 on 1 and not helping, the Mavs need to do the same. They CANNOT help off of their guy and give up open 3's. This was the biggest difference in G1 was the 3 point shooting so this needs to be a top area of focus. If Tatum and Brown beat their guys, then so be it. Make them work for everything but do not give up open looks to the other guys.

2. Start Lively over Gafford. While Lively got in foul trouble, he did the best job defensively on Porzingis imo. Anytime Porzingis is in the game, Lively should be on him. Also, for any screens set by Porzingis the Mavs need to not switch and try to fight through the screen so that Porzingis doesn't get switched onto a smaller defender.

3. Kyrie knows he will be guarded 1 on 1 so he needs to be very aggressive and take advantage of that.

4. Whoever is guarding Jaylen Brown needs to shade him to his right and force him to his left hand which is weaker.

5. Give Jaden Hardy more minutes. Mavs lack offense and Hardy is one guy who can come in and help offensively.

Also WTF does Derrick Jones do for the team, the guy seems like a non factor

Sprinkle some Luka Magic on top and the Mavericks depart Boston with an upset hahaha 

 
Figure out how to stop Boston shooting the three. Also, Boston bigs spreading them out on the perimeter is a HUGE problem. Make Boston play more inside. Mavs dominated points in the paint on the Wolves. Maybe easier said than done, but we will see how Kidd makes adjustments. 

One more thing, the Mavs should hand ball handling duties to someone else other than Luka. Brown is pressuring Luka full court or 3/4 court to make him work more. They need to conserve his energy as much as possible especially when Celtics are going after Luka on D also.

 Luka being the ball handler is the biggest detriment to the offensive flow right now. He had his best games and higher assist ratio against the twolves. Celtics focus on him had been effective. Mavs need another player to step up other than Kyrie. 

one thing that separates Boston from Mavs is the crisp passing. Ball moves faster than defender, when they close the dribble drive is effective for Boston and when that is met they pass to an open shooter. Mavs dont have crisp passing because Doncic is a ball stopper, makes it much easier for Celts to defend.
