When the Lakers are in action, there is usually very little hesitation when it comes bettors willing to wager on the purple and gold no matter what the circumstances may be. As I'm sure you're all aware, the Lakers haven't exactly had one of their best seasons thus far. Expectations were high and the team has underperformed greatly this season. You all know the headlines so there is no point in going in to all of that.
To the main point of this thread...
Does anyone else feel that after the Lakers defeat of the Thunder on Sunday, a game against one of the top teams in the Western Conference, a game that was televised nationally, a game in which L.A. was an underdog AT Staples... Does anyone think this is the perfect bait for sports bettors?
Again, the Lakers usually don't need much to sway the general betting public in their direction. That being said, things were getting a little dire in Laker land. The team had 2 wins their last 12 games prior to them defeating Utah a few night's ago. 2 WINS!!!!??!?!
I just get the sense that after beating the Thunder, people are quick to
forget how miserable this team has actually been this season. "They're
back!" or "If they can beat the Thunder, they can manhandle the Hornets!" is probably what some are saying. I'm not ready to believe just yet.
I think there is some good value with the Hornets tonight.
Thoughts? I've been a little of practice with basketball over the last little while so I'd love some opinions!

Really depends on which Kobe shows up. If its the one for the past 2 games where he is distributing the ball, then lakers blow this out. If not, I see the hornets covering. I'd rather not bet on the lakers until I see some stability, as there's better games to cap today.

i think kobe will continue to distribute the ball from now on..im sure he's smart enough to realize that, him distributing the ball more helps win games. im not saying lakers turned over a new leaf and that they are goin to the playoffs but i think they will at least be at .500 or better by seasons end...they beat hornet at NO earlier this year by over 7pts witout dwight howard in...im sure they can again today

take into account who they are playing...At Center, Robin Lopez is a scrub that Dwight presumably should be able to handle, Earl Clark will stick to Anderson like glue on the perimeter with him being lean, tall, and fast, kobe on a much shorter eric gordon will give eric gordon trouble shooting but perhaps a slight advantage in dribble penetration, and al farouq aminu is not a threat on offense except for his offensive rebounding which all is leading me to believe that Lakers have the advantage at the 2-5 positions. But, at the 1, vasquez has been playing great as of late and with nash 39 year old nash defense (which is worse than Fisher's D in the past couple years) I see a Goran Dragic (a guy who has repeatedly killed the Lakers and their horrible PG defense) like explosion from Vasquez who has been player of the week couple of times this season. Fortunately, I can see Nash matching or being relatively close to Vasquez's output on the floor.
As a Laker fan though, I'm eating the chalk and hoping we close out a 3 game home stand very strong before heading out on the Grammy Road trip.
**Just food for thought, many on covers question the integrity of the NBA. if the NBA was fixed, wouldn't they want to keep the big market teams in the playoffs. As a result, is it plausible that one would be led to believe that the Lakers will win and also the Mavs will covers in Portland as Portland is currently 3 games ahead of the lakers for the 9th seed? With Utah recently sliding, one playoff spot will be open for sure, and If the nba is fixed, it is very important to start making up for the lakers losses

i usually hate to be on the public side of a game but love the lakers here..
terrible spot for new orleans considering they are coming off an impressive road win at memphis and coming in to face a Laker team that is still angry and inspired to improve there record.
bet lakers -7 early i see it at 7.5 now might add more to it
