At what point does the League realize they have a problem? To me, they prop up this high scoring high flying regular season then the post season is falling flat on its face, not because of good defense but teams are shooting awful, making poor decisions and really not showing up. There’s a underlying lack of caring that is palpable to me. I knew when the money started flooding in from legalized gambling there’d be impacts and disruption. What’s up becomes down, what’s down becomes sideways.
So that’s just my opinion after watching basketball for 25 years. I think the League should be in panic mode but they won’t be because there are simply too many fans and bettors to support whatever product they display. But I do think with Wednesday’s possible blowouts coming we get a slate of high scoring competitive games tonight to get off this hideous home fav to the under run…I can’t take another road team scoring 94pts so insane. Last year at this point I believe 6 road teams scored over 111ppg.

At some point it has to balance out. Right? 14-2 1H UNDERS. 7 straight.
Data loves Unders on 4/5 seeds 1st round - Mavs/Clipps 1st round. Staying away from that one, but…
I still cant believe the Bucks/Pacers barely scored 200 points. I don’t care if Giannis is out, those games in season went over with him out. The 1H is 109 today??? I will pay to see it.

Out of 25yrs was there ever a year where the game “sped up” during the playoffs?.. lol where every play matters, more thought (can be good & bad) into possessions and shot selection, not playing as loose etc.. I would’ve thought this was the inevitable so if anyone is wagering teams over ONLY bc it worked well “during the season”, that’s what I find crazy. Just find ur spots. Bet on quarters/halves if u have to.

I can’t really explain it but u can sense Teams like Orlando & Indiana (even tho they made playoffs) not taken seriously throughout the season.. the East not exactly a gauntlet, some will even say those two in particular overachieved.. almost like set up for letdown.. building ur trust throughout season just to get smacked in the playoffs..
when a team sees them on calendar, there’s not one star who thinks “ I gotta bring my A game” cause of a Banchero or Haliburton, it’s just reality.. lol
even though Indiana was the highest scoring team, their style of play will be LUCK if they ever advance.. cause it depends on the other team missing shots so they can run the floor/speed the game up.. That stuff thrown out the window in the playoffs when a team forces them to play half court. The game slows down. If I had to pick who looked better during the season but highest possibility of getting swept in playoffs it was Orlando & Indiana.

The lower totals already reflects the playoffs, I get it, and data already backs these 1st round favorites and the unders. Regression will happen though, it always does.
Not sure I agree with you on Orlando looking better during the season, at least the last 20 games from them. Cavs to me was an easier play on the series. Especially with the Orlando offense.
Just speaking on the Pacers/Bucks totals, I’m chalking that first game up to Pacers jitters not being there for 4 years, and yes it could still continue. Still think there’s value there as the markets not pricing in Bucks OVERs with Giannis out. Pacers will make adjustments and not just shoot threes, but attack the hoop. I disagree that the game will slow down. Maybe on the Bucks side, but not with the Pacers.
