There are 5 teams that will tank on purpose this year: Spurs, Jazz, OKC, Rockets, and Pacers. It's gotta be profitable to bet against them every game right?? Especially for this year's loaded draft class, so just live bet against them if they're up because they will end up losing on purpose Thoughts?

Live betting or ML parlay against the crap teams? Tanking will be UNREAL this year, everyone wants Victor W or Scoot Henderson! Only time when you don't bet against them is when they play each other

OKC was 48-30-4 ATS last season which was 2nd best in the NBA.Teams can lose games and still cover. Besides, I really don't think teams lose on purpose to get better draft picks. It would not be beneficial to players that are going to be free agents or likely to be traded. If they play poorly, their trade value is diminished. I think the best strategy is to try to catch teams early that are overperforming, or underperforming, and try to react accordingly. Like Memphis last season.

Not if you are betting against the spread... In the NFL, the Falcons are 5 - 0 against the spread yet are suppose to be horrible this season... More like fade the public, that is how you win in sports betting ATS

I’m not talking bout ATS but about straight up ML. I’m SURE some GMs told their coach to purposely lose, and the coach could have an influence by putting in certain players in?

Wrong Wrong. All of the teams you mentioned can't as you say tank because some of them are in the same division and play each other multiple times throughout the year.
Is it possible to have like three teams in the same division that just suck?
Possibly but not likely. If that happens then you would have one super team which would be the number 1 team in that division and a lot of sucky teams in that division.
What you are essentially asking will there be several teams in the same division that don't make the playoffs. I really don't think the NBA likes that. They like to have teams from different markets to make the playoffs. However attendance has been down with low ticket sales.
The product just sucks etc. That being said watch what happens to the Phoenix Suns I expect them to try to trade off some players for a fire sale and expect them to lose games in order for the team to look more profitable than what they actually are. The NBA is show business. The key word is business.

@spicycurry gave this some thought and I like the idea of fading these tanking teams in concept if they have a big lead but the books might have the spreads very tilted in the favorites favor to account for this. So might not be an easy as it looks. Dunno maybe one takes ML live if the price gets right.
