Unfortunatley for the Washington Wizards, things haven't exactly started off well this year. Once again they were hit with the injury bug as one of their key players, Antawn Jamison, was scheduled to miss the first 4-6 weeks of the season. Things started to get worse. After scoring an impressive victory in Dallas on opening night, the Wizards had only one win heading into Wednesday game with King James. In fact, Washington were losers of 6 in a row. Not too good at all...
Then things got a little brighter. Antawn Jamison made his much awaited debut and helped his team break out of slump by posting a very impressive double-double in his first game back. Not only did the Wizards defeat an Eastern Confrence powerhouse team, they also played together as a fully healthy team for the first time this year. The core group of Arenas, Jamison and Butler is together again and expectations have been high for this team to contend for a playoff spot. No more excuses for this team.
So, to my point already. Does anyone think bettors are going to jump on the Wizards bandwagon a little too soon? They are coming of nationally televised game in which they pulled off an upset win. I know the Cavs were injured, but considering the start Washington has had this year I think it's safe to call it an upset.
They play tonight against an Oklahoma City team that just got beat down by Orlando. Now granted, the Thunder are defenitley improved and capable of competeing with the best of em... but are gamblers convinced yet? Do people trust the Thunder enough to be betting on them with confidence? The Wizards are +2.5 in this game. A team that just defeated Cleveland is an underdog to a Thunder team that really hasn't proven much yet.
I personally feel as though a lot of bettors are going to ride the Wizards here just because of all of these circumstances. Putting too much stock into that one game. Wizards at +2.5 - ML value as a dog. It feels like a big set up to me...A
It'll interesting to see which was the money goes here...

I just feel like the Wizards need to decide what kind of team they are going to be this year, a team like last year or a playoff contender....With that big win against Cleveland and with the healthy group back I think they string together some wins.....and return to the playoffs

Line has climbed to -3.5/-4. I noticed that the line made a quick jump to -4 on Pinnacle and then went right back down to -3.5... all within one mintue.
Hmmm....

Both of these teams are mid-level nba clubs with the thunder showing promise of late. This has come with durant carrying the bulk of the scoring at 27 ppg. This team really rides on his output but we've already seen that although he scores and goes to the line a lot, he hasn't stepped up in late game situations. The return of Jamison is huge for the Wiz and I think Flip made a great move to sit Gilbert during the end of the 4th Q vs. the Cavs. Earl came in and scored some huge buckets down the stretch. This team showed a good team D effort in that game and I like them to go on a run after that win. Wiz have dominanted this team as of late and I think it's a great situation for them to keep some momentum rolling
