Gave away too many assets to get Chris Paul for two seasons. The Clippers are still not a contender and have serious depth issues. They made a stupid move giving up an emerging player in Eric Gordon, a top 2 pick, and their best post player..

you dont know what that draft pick will be... how many times have we seen a team that had by far the best chance to get the #1 pick and fall down to 4 or 5... Plus this is minnys pick right? minny might not be that bad, this pick might end up being a 5/6/7?? who knows...

Could be a very solid trade for the Clips, except that Gordon is only 22, and the pick could possibly be a top 3 pick, which would mean they would get a BIG TIME talent. Having that amazing PG is huge though.

True shango but it could be a later pick or a top 3 pick that turns into a bust.. If we went through the past 3 picks in every draft last 10 years. Ton of busts in there...plus I don't think minny will be in the bottom 3 so the odds might be against it being a top 3 pick..

At least we can all agree that the clips should be fun to watch... LA which was 99% lakers will now be lower, say 90% lol. Just joking.... Lot of those laker fans will become clips fans too though..

I wholeheartedly have to disagree. This is a tremendous and dominant move. Getting potential HOF'ers(and importantly, high quality leaders)Paul and Griffin as teammates for at least 5 years(if Paul agrees to a long term deal) is an amazing opportunity for building a championship foundation. Sterling has actually made a bright decision.
Gordon is a SG talent, but not on the level of CP3, nor, in my opinion, likely to ever be. Gordon is not a stellar passer. He does not possess Paul's game changing skills. He is not a proven leader in the same way as Paul. His stats may improve but I'll always take 26 year old PG Paul over 22 year old SG Gordon. Kaman is solid, but not irreplaceable. DeAndre Jordan will have a chance to show his skills this season. Losing a potential high draft pick can be costly, but who knows how Adelman will guide the T-Wolves this season. That pick may end up being out of the top 3.
The Clippers also have time to build up a roster around these two. The balance of power has now shifted completely in LA as well as in the entire West. OKC and LAC will now vie for superiority in the coming seasons. Dallas, LAL and San Antonio are all riding on the downside. The future belongs to, believe it or not, the Los Angeles Clippers. I will hate seeing a smiling Donald Sterling, but they will be entertaining every night.

4 PG's isn't ideal with no SG. However, overall they are still somewhat deep.
Longterm this deal isn't so bad. They would have had to give Eric Gordon a BIIIIG long term deal, and i dont think his ceiling is very good. He is socially awkward and not a leader.
