I would say both public and smart/big money on sixers. Vegas definitely had a liability they were willing to take had 76ers covered. They do a good job of using star players as pawns to make money in certain situations. 

And that might be exagerating too, since they did move the line pretty drastically in 76ers favor. 

when was sharp money ever on sixers? the public play was philly, they were rested....

Lose sharp and public from your vocab...then start over regarding the way you bet on sports.

Dont believe in the fairy tales of sharps and squares...there is no such thing...there are winners and losers...there are people who bet good numbers before they move, and there are people who bet bad numbers after they have moved.

Bet who you think will cover and dont listen to all the white noise.

Was at the game that crowd was rocking and Boston money line kept going up I think the 76ers could win this series cause Boston won’t win in Philly game 2 Philly will make so adjustments but I still take the Celtics plus points in there own building

Thank you, Pack. You saved me from having to say it. "Sharp" is a term touts perpetuate to make the punters think there is some cabal of handicappers that have secret insight. It's such a joke of a term and vastly overused. Dogs are "sharp". Favorites are "square". Unders are "sharp". Like you said, there's no such thing as sharp and square, just winners and losers.

What else is sickening is people who say "Vegas" like the city of Las Vegas is a sentient being that controls all of gambling.

Stumptownstu - when I quote “Vegas”, I’m speaking about oddsmakers. Do they know how every game will play out? Hell no. But do they know the percentage of each realistic outcome and then set the line based on public percetption? Yes, yes they do. I do think they are fine taking vig but I also believe they will take advantage of the public in the spots that allow them too.

Ha! That wasn't directed at you, bro. I can see how it would read that way but it was a general, "if the shoe fits" statement directed at a lot of guys on this site. To your point though, it ain't the 60's. There aren't smokey backrooms in vegas with Frank Rosenthal types hammering out numbers. The guys setting the number are all over the world and often times Vegas is just getting it themselves.
