Could Melo Be The Answer For The Cavs

Question

I know the Cavs are capable of hitting a ton of 3's and their current roster is sufficient to beat the teams in the East and quite possibly most teams in the West.

But, to me, they appear to be one scorer short of having the necessary "FIREPOWER" to deal with GSW over the next two years.

Which gets me to Carmelo Anthony.

If the noise and chatter between Melo and Phil Jackson is real and Knicks want to move on from Melo -- why not buy him out and let him go to a team of his choosing.

Melo would obviously have to decide between the Clippers and Cavs ---- basically decide if he wants to play with his boy - Chris Paul or his boy - Lebron James.

To me, if he is bought out, and allowed to go where he chooses

Melo going to the Cavs to give them 15 to 20 points a game would give the Cavs the necessary FIREPOWER to deal and score with GSW

He would be the 3rd option.Basically asked to 1) spot up and hit the open shot...or2) post up....(I think Melo will have an Ole Man Offensive game)  and3) occasionally play iso ball with Melo and he gives them another late game closer - tough shot taker - tough shot makerAnd for Melo and Lebron -- they both would hand over the scoring eventually to Kyrie --- where Kyrie would be the #1 option and they both can age gracefully.Not to mention - Melo would be HUNGRY for a ring.Really seems like a No-Brainer for the Knicks, Melo and the Cavs

The King would put up with it only because they&#x27;re boys but Melo only fits if they ship love and that would be a mistake. They don&#x27;t need another forward they need another guard. Either a true point, move Kyrie to the off and take pressure off of Lebron to facilitate and make all the plays. Or keep Kyrie at the point, get a lengthy two-guard who can score. A Devin Booker type.

I think the ball dominant part can be fixed. He has been great with team usa. However, offense doesn&#x27;t seem to be their problem.

Lebron has already rejected the idea of Melo coming to the Cavs.

It happened this past trade deadline when he was asked.

He's not going to the Cavs. I would say the Rockets but D'Antoni is there so that shouldn't happen either (but he would fit there).

Lebrom rejected the tade Love for Melo offer.I would reject that trade too .......Love is not a flashy player - but I like K Love and appreciate what he brings to team play(great passer, nice rebounder and shooter and capable low post option)I do not think LBJ would reject Melo walking thru the Cavs front door after being bought out.

The answer to the Cavs problems are their type offense they run ISO ball with Kyrie and the fact that they don&#x27;t play defense. You cannot cruise during the regular season expect to suddenly turn it up defensively come playoffs. Game 4 they did not play better defensively they played more physical and the refs Let them play physical and when GS played physical back they got called for every single foul in the 1st quarter. . GS still put up 116 on a bad shooting night.

i hear a lot of thompson talk, thats klay thompson. but the x factor here for me is tristan thompson who&#x27;s value to the cavs is invaluable due to his knowledge of the personal along with zaza being his match up. he&#x27;s capable of having a monster game if they use the paint to their advantage. bol fellas

The question is -  what does Cavs have to do to their roster and/or style of play to match GSW and not be an underdog in every game vs Warriors regardless of being home or awayAnd the other question is - how can Cavs improve the roster so Lebron can go to the bench and get some rest for more than two minutes without all heck breaking loose.To me, the addition of Melo or a player similar to Melo enhances the Cavs offensive efficiency and they continue to get buckets......and allows more flexibility with the lineups as Lebron rests.    Maybe Melo or Lebron is on the floor at all times....I don&#x27;t know.I just feel the Cavs are a 15 ppg short of being able to go toe for toe against the warriors without so much being on Kyrie and LebronEven Steve Kerr said it too    quote      "Kyrie and Lebron will get tired"      that&#x27;s what he told his guys.Cavs need one more 15 ppg scorer to be able to truly matchup with GSW next year.That being said - they have to go to battle with what they have this year --- and if Kyrie and Lebron and Love are all three on -- then things could get interesting.Not having the additional 15 ppg scorer gives Cavs a smaller room for error.
