Remember the Mavs have a top 5 protected pick for their Luka deal. So with them selling out for Porzingis who won&#x27;t be ready til next season, the Mavs best option is to lose out this season for a top 5 pick. That would set them up big time for the future.

Yea, all comes down to Kristaps health. If his chicken legs keep breaking, they don&#x27;t get a top 5 pick this year, they&#x27;ll be hurting for years, because they gave up another first rounder in this deal.

Huge assumption Porzy will be healthy....history has proven guys his size simply have no lifespan in the nba...i guess im a bit too much of a realist here...maybe i will be wrong on this....only time will tell.

Dennis Smith Jr will be a very good player and im shocked Dallas gave him up

Damn man, I&#x27;ve liked the way the Mavs were built and had a nice handle on capping them.  This entire thing has thrown that out the window.  And all for a dude that even when he was playing would rarely take over games.  Like there is zero reason to bet on Dallas now moving forward.  All their ATS records to date are moot.  Will take 20 games from them to figure out where they stand and by then the season is almost over and they will be in tank mode.  Stupid fkn Knicks just ruined one of my favorite teams to back at home ATS.  Fkn clowns
