Yay or Nay? I personally think they need a new direction after becoming the first #1 seed to get swept before the conference finals.
Casey is a good coach. It's not his fault Derozan and Lowry played horrible. This team as constructed will never win the East. They rely on two guys to carry them and when they play bad in the playoffs which is often what do you expect? Just like Lillard and Mccolum
Kerr nor Stevens would coach this team past Lebron with that squad.
People are quick to blame a coach when things go wrong.
Same thing in Philly, coach Brown is a solid coach but Simmons bonehead plays cost them games.

Both coaches should be fired. Philly coach should have sat Simmons down. This is the playoffs not regular season. Casey case is it’s the third time. Indiana gave them the blueprint on competing

I disagree. Someone needs to be accountable for the let down from expectations, and it starts with the HC. The HC needs to be the person influencing, motivating, COACHING the talent pool he has. If they can win 59 games in regular season, they have the ingredients to compete, just not the right coaching for the important stage. He needs to be accountable.

Don't you think if Lowry and Derozan had their season avg ppg that the series would be different? because it would have. They didn't show up. If millions of dollars don't motivate you what will?
There sure are coaches out there who are so much better than those two lol
So if Lebron loses to these Warriors team two more times it is Lue's fault not that the Warriors are just that much better.

You totally disregard the play of his 'stars' It's not one-sided. Too bad nobody wants those two because the team is playoff trash. You can't name a coach that would have gotten the Raps past the Cavs.
Facts.

you can't bench your best star player in the 4th...
Raptors need a new coach also, 1 more key star player to compete with Lebron and the tough East next year.

I don't know if coach is their problem, although I don't like him as a coach. I can't count in my fingers how many times toronto choked din 4th quarter while he didn't do anything to avoid that, specially benching JV in such moment.
Look at Boston right now. They completely turned around their starters from last season. And look at them right now. Younger, quicker, more efficieny, better defensively and still playing without their main 2 players.
Toronto should do the same. I would trade DeRozan and Lowry out without thinking twice if they can get a good pack of draft picks plus high level young players. Part with Ibaka. Give their young players the ball to restart. You cant have JV, Portl and Nogueira and play only 1 per time, trade out one of them or two. Both of them have some talent in some way (JV off/def, Portl off and Nogueira def).

Im looking at this situation under a different lens. Its not so much that the Raps cant get past the Cavs, its the fact that him and his coaching staff were so out-coached that they cant even win 1 game in 3 consecutive post seasons against the Cavs. Not even 1 game. Thats the angle i think the senior execs are looking at.

This firing proves Raps Brass and upper management expect more from this squad and not just settle being a top regular season wins collector...its all about the playoffs and this move is the right move
