So which team are the most overrated/underachieving this year?
I didn't want to bring up this just after the lost bet (have had 2-3 tough losses by Blazers),as I wouldn't be seen as a crybaby's rant after a loss like this-blowout @ homecourt to OKC.
Looking at Portland's roster I see a superstar (Lillard) one all star (Mc Collum)-arguably two-if you add Whiteside and a bunch of role players.Latest addition to this team was Carmelo Anthony, who was a superstar once upon a time.
The first three make very good money-good for them. But not for the team.
Someone could say "How Blazers are an overrated team if they have two-at best three good players?"
My answer is "Let's look other teams records who have similar talent in their teams".
Maybe I'm wrong about this but 9-15 (4-6 at home) is not good enough for them.
Some teams are underrated so overachieving at this point of the season(OKC),some are doing really well under the radar (Miami Heat,Raptors),some are straight garbage (Knicks,Warriors due to injuries and the loss of KD-also injured on Nets).Few teams are looking after the first quarter of the season to be in decline. My number one for this "award" is definetely Blazers.
Their two stars (Dame and CJ) look like the T-Wolves duo (Wiggins and KAT) in my eyes.Good players BUT wwaaaaaayyy overpaid for what they bring to the table.
Maybe that's why Whiteside and Melo joined them. They see a franchise pay big $$ for losers.
"Last year they went to the WCF" I can hear you screaming and laughing at me.
"They got swepped".Every year the same story with them come playoff time.If they are 5-8th on the regular season they get a nice beautiful sweep. If they have home court advantage in the first round, they simply fall on their knees when playing a really good team. That's the definition of a LOSER.
In the long run of the year they might prove me wrong in the regular season. But even if they go to post-season with 7-8 seed they will do their best 0-4 with like -80 points difference on the series.
