My friend's ex wife grew up with his extended family in West VA.
Jerry drafted my buddy George Lynch and then traded him to make room for Shaq financially.
Executive with 4 teams is impressive because he helped all 4..lakers, grizz, warriors, clips.
...he and Bill Russell can play 1 on 1.

The miniseries "Showtime" is amazing and shows Jerry West's acumen in the front office. True basketball legend in so many ways. LA Laker to the very end.

@packersbackers
West was awesome.
Met him when I worked for the Heat at the 1990.nba ASG and again when I was involved with the Magic for the Dreamers game at the Cap Centre.

Speaking of miniseries. I wanna see that show 'Clipped' with Al Bundy in it
It's only on Hulu though or something and don't have it.

all them guys who played in the 50 and 60 would get runned over in todays nba where athletes are quicker, faster and stronger, alot of them cats played in the nba part time and then go to their regular jobs (janitors, firemen, construction workers, teachers, etc) ....just watch those highlights from back then alot of them were fat, slow and clumsy, but yeah rest in peace mr west

Talent and skills transcend time...if those "regular job" players 60+ years ago were given today's amenities, sports exercises, physio, training, nutrition, etc...it's easily argued they all would have been top tier players in the modern era of today's game.
