1-0 last night with the Knicks covering against the Bulls.
That took a back seat to the bigger story of the night, the Rajon Rondo trade. As a huge Celtics fan for life, this one hit hard. I loved Rondo. I loved the passion he plays with and the way he makes everyone else on the court instantly better. Yes, he can't shoot very well and is terrible on the free throw line. He can be moody and isn't a "rah-rah" type of guy. But when it's all said and done he can put up 15 assists in any game he wants, and is far and away the best rebounding point guard in the league.
The Mavericks got a steal in this one...their draft picks aren't going to be much and with Chandler in there Brandon Wright wasn't as effective as he could have been. Nelson is past his prime and couldn't stay on the court. Crowder is a filler piece that can give you decent minutes off the bench and not much else. They can roll out Rondo, Ellis, Parsons, Dirk, Chandler. Are you freakin kidding me? That's far and away the best starting lineup in the NBA right now, and they have one of the best coaches in the league. They have the best offense in the league and got someone who can get them even more open shots and offensive rebounds?
Watch out for the Mavs.
