As a Knick fan I'm loving their start to this season...
We are in solid position to get a top 3 pick, we are unloading a ton of scrubs and salary cap, and we'll be on a true rebuilding path, starting a new era of Knickerbocker baskets.
Give me Lerbron, Wade, or Bosh + a top 3 pick and we're looking good.
Everyone knows in the NBA all it takes is 1 player to change the culture of an organization. We are in position to make that happen regardless of who signs with us next season.
NIce job Donnie...

Actually Utah owns that pick because of a moronic trade by Isiah years ago.

i don't think anyone would talk about the knicks or how shitty they are if people didnt keep betting on them... so ..
Rule #1 no betting on the knicks!! OK! OK! BREAK!
haven't made a single hoops bet this year, this thread has nothing to do with gambling on the knicks... but i agree you'd have to be crazy to put a nickel on the knicks the way they look right now...

its wasn't only isiah.. laden too. we have had bad management for the past decade. the only hope is to get lebron or wade (don't think they r gonna come) or wait for melo in 2011. I dont think any other free agent alone can turn this franchise around. we would need 2 quality stars (not superstars) to become comeptitve - like a bosh and joe johnson. but still you need a superstar to win a championship. CP3 were you at?!

In 2004 Isaiah Thomas traded Howard Eisley, Antonio McDyess,
Charlie Ward, a 2004 draft pick, and a future protected draft pick to
the Suns for Anfernee (Penny) Hardaway and Stephon Marbury (who is now
getting paid to sit behind the bench in a suit).
A month later, the Jazz traded Keon Clark (who?) and Ben
Handgloten (also who?) to the Phoenix Suns for Tom Gugliotta and that
Knicks first-round pick. Here are the Protections for that pick:
Protected 2006=top 25, 2007=top 24, 2008=top 23, 2009=top 22. Unprotected in 2010.
Meanwhile, the Jazz owe a first round draft pick to the
Philadelphia 76ers from the Gordan Giricek, Kyle Korver trade. Here
are the protections on that pick: protected 2009=top 22*, 2010=top
15**, 2011=top17, 2012=top 16, 2013=top 16, 2014=becomes 2014 second
round pick plus cash). But there’s more…
*if Jazz pick (2009) is
unprotected to Sixers AND if Jazz receive New York pick in 2009, Sixers
have rights to the more favorable of the two picks.
**if Jazz pick (2010) is
unprotected to Sixers AND if Jazz receive New York pick in 2010, Sixers
will receive the less favorable of the two picks.

everyone on this team pisses me off. david lee will be an allstar if he had a player like CP3 playing with him (look at the rook/soph game he was in) but is a horrible interior defender, Galo can only shoot the three and commits too many unnescesary fouls, chandler has potential but it sometimes way to shy, nate is undisciplined, both rookies and landry hustle and have some up side, jefferies only real legit defender along with huges, harrington tries to hard and forces the issue, duhon is playing like if charles smith would run the point, darko... c ya. That only leaves one player...eddy curry who might give this team the much needed interior post play. fingers crossed.
who you think we can really get next year and who would you keep?

NY2010, i would get rid of everybody except Chandler and Danilo Galo... I'd love to get Arriza back, thanks Larry Brown. I'd love to have our lottery pick, thank Isiah. Other than that I'm not sure.
Obviously we have Jordan Hill for a couple of years, I haven't seen a Knicks game this season besides the Cleveland debacle on ESPN, what does Hill look like?
Tony Douglas from FSU another rook, so that's the only players I would keep unless we sign a nice FA, then maybe keep a D. Lee around. But if we're not we might as well sacrifice another season, sign a second tier FA and gamble on the draft and maybe sign Melo on 2011...
Donnie will make some moves as the season moves along, guy has been real proactive during his tenure... And I think as the season unfolds he will develop a plan for 2010...
Even if it's merely setting the foundation for the future to build through draft and keep a workable cap so they can sign players when the time comes...
One of these years they will get their shit together and then the FA will be knocking on our door, at the end of the day it's NY and all you have to do is finish in 8th place to make the playoffs in the NBA, that's not even .500 ball in the east.

Knicks will get Amare, but that is an awful situation. Lebron is not going to New York to be a part of that suck fest
I understand your point and you may very well be right. But allow me to make a counter argument.
Lebron has made it clear he wants to be a BILLION dollar athlete. There is no way to accomplish that merely through his NBA salary. So that means he needs endorsement deals and lots of them. There's no city that can provide him with those deals like NY can. Cleveland isn't even in the discussion when it comes to endorsement dollars.
Yes the Knicks are in shambles, Yes things look bad but Cleveland's current roster provides Lebron with little protection. Everyone knows what Cleveland was like prior to Lebron's arrival, I mean they recieved the number 1 pick. Now they're perennial title contenders with no thanks to anyone except Lebron.
The entire city of NY has rolled out the red carpet and begged for Lebron, that's a powerful thing, even if he decides not come here.
I think there's alot going for NY even if there team sucks right now. With a Lebron they're a couple years away. Cleveland sucks w/o Lebron, he wouldn't be leaving behind 1 good player.
