Couldn't disagree more. Not with the conclusion but with the writeup. Actually it was nice to see you post, I always like to read your thoughts in others threads, I think you have great understanding.
That is why I am surprised here...
It is very easy to make a team look fantastic and the other the opposite. If I didn't watch NBA at all, I would think the Lakers are contenders according to your writeup.
To remind you, that roster lost so many games at home and holds the 2nd worst record in the league.
Against GSW it was a game they came out to win, but in this one I'm not sure. Kobe giving autographs and seems like everyone there wants to lose. They want to win the race they're having with PHO and PHI.
Now to your analysis regarding the players themselves.
Hibbert??? The gut is a total doosh, has zero basketball, and since that incredible defensive series against the Heat 3-4 years ago, he just became the 2nd biggest joke in the league (first place is well preserved to the human machine GOAT Kendrick Perkins).
Bass? come on. mediocre to say the least.
Yeah. they got some talent here and there, but bottom line the LAkers are TERRIBLE! They can defend and their shooting is poor. And again, I don't how much effort they'll put out there tonight.
Magic, on the other hand, is a great team IMO that has proven its abilities ATS-wise. They have terrific players, that are way better than LA's. Victor + Evan + Elfrid + Vucevic (I know he's out) + Gordon + another nice players... And they're fighting for the playoffs.
I would take Orlando's hard working fellas over the divas from LA any day.
NOW, I absolutely do NOT say that the right pick is ORL-3. But, I think you analysis is wrong and Im saying it with a nice approach so I'm sorry if I sound aggressive.
To the game itself... I would lean Orlando beacuse all the reasons I mentioned:
1. Better team.
2. running for playoffs against tanking.
3. LA way too satisifed after their huge victory, and I would (cautiously) suggest that they partied themselves to death. That's not a factor in taking them, but it adds.
4. Teams that lose to GSW (yeah, except those 6 that won this season) play better the next day and win. That was a nice trend that I saw during the season, but must admit that didn't check to the bones.
So, why is the line this low? That is what I was devating with myself. Hard to figure this one out.
All in good spirit bro, keep on writing here. GL
