He opted out because the salary cap has been restructured and he can make more money to re-sign withe Cleveland as a free agent.

But yes, I will laugh my @ss off in the faces of the idiots who embraced his comeback if/when he does leave again.

Anyone who does not understand why he opted out should not be allowed to talk on an nba forum. He is not leaving. The hate is seriously out of control. I've never seen someone who is fantastic in every role he has publicly hated so bad.
he may be a piece of poop but it does not seem that way
    never arrested
    never messed with wife
best team player superstar last 20 years.
    I dont get it.
Probably the best role model in sports in regards to the elite players. The decision was in bad taste; however EVERY NICKEL of proceeds went to kids organizations. People need to get a life

Why do you think he had a 1 year option in his contract. He'll get the same contract again this year so he can opt out for the money next summer when the salary cap increases. And yea making more money does matter regardless of how rich you are. But I love seeing people reach trying to criticize this guy. Just like Kobe and Tom Brady, the better you r the more haters you'll generate.

The difference between these 2 is that Brady will restructure his contract to win. Kobe will take his $25 million, not budge, and play out the rest of his career on a team who won't compete. And that's really sad because all Kobe has to do is restructure his contract, sell that to free agents that he's all about winning and willing to do that, and he can get 2 guys to come on board with him. But he won't...

As for the topic at hand. LeBron (clearly the best player), took as much as Wade and Bosh to try and win. Then he went back to Cleveland and opted out for more money. But if you tell me that if an opportunity presented itself to get another star player that wanted to go to play with him in Cleveland that he wouldn't figure out a way to take less money to bring them in, you're crazy.

As mentioned before...so much hate goes towards LeBron and it's because he was deemed the next Michael Jordan and nobody likes him being called "The King" and "The Chosen One" tattoo didn't help his cause. You can't compare him to Michael...but in terms of generations...Michael was the best in his and LeBron is the best in his so I don't get people trying to compare the 2 when there will be no winner in that argument.

Why can't we all just enjoy that we are watching one of the top 4 best players in the history of the game instead of hate on an unselfish human being?

Just like Kobe and Tom Brady, the better you r the more haters you'll generate.

The difference between these 2 is that Brady will restructure his contract to win. Kobe will take his $25 million, not budge, and play out the rest of his career on a team who won't compete.

In regards to kobe, he's at the end of his career let him make is money! no issue's.

Same thing with lebron opting out and re-signing, make your money.

The hate comes on lebron, because the "best" had to ditch his hometown  & call his friends (it's come out that he created the super team by calling bosh n wade)
and if it wasn't for cle having these picks and irving he wasn't "coming home"

and to be honest a player with HEART and CLASS and some sort of pride would have stayed in Miami and get revenge for the worst loss in finals history!! but lebron takes the easy way out.

Now someone said he's probably the best role model in sports is a MORON!!

-manning/crosby/ovie/rodgers etc. all do that, but work there fools off and would never leave their respected teams unless forced too.

HELL patrice bergon on the bruins, played in the playoffs with a broken rib, torn cartilage and separated shoulder. that's a role model
Not someone who got carried off the floor because of a leg cramp
