LeBron's 4 year contract (3 + his option) gives Magic time with getting Kawhi. What nobody is talking about is IF Kawhi is healthy. The Lakers are content to let someone else work Kawhi out for a year to see if his leg is ok. In the meantime, Ingram and the rest of the kids get better w Coah LeBron....and Lonzo gets healthy so the Lakes can trade him. (Do you think it was a coincidence that LaVar leaked Lonzo's knee injury? He wanted to prevent any trade)
There is NO WAY MAgic will trade Ingram - the Lakers love the guy.
Time is on the Lakers side. LeBron will use year 1 to build a base with both the Lakers....and as important to himself....his L.A. based empire.
In year 2, once all settled in - LeBron and the pieces he and Magic will add in the coming year....will be all in to beat GSW. We'll see.
Adam Silver hits gold again.

You are a fool to think the Spurs will give away Kawhi for nothing especially to the Fakers. It will have to be Ingram/Kuzma + a future 1st for Kawhi or Spurs will defer to Boston and take what they give them to spite Kawhi. They will not give in to his demands. Lebron will be 35 by the time next season rolls around...Father time waits for noone. Fakers will waste a year.

Lakers not dealing Kuzma under any circumstances, they are waiting. Meanwhile Bos is out so the only other team that can sneak in is Philly. But they have made Fultz unavailability which makes no sense as he is total trash. But if they do change their minds, Fultz, Covington, Zaire Smith and a 1st should be enough.

Don't forget Kawhi would tell Philly he's a 1 year rental

PG13 disagrees. Also the team that trades for him can offer him a 5 year extension with more $$ next year where as other teams only 4 years. A lot can change in 1 year especially if the team he goes to wins a title.

Philly would take the same chance OKC did with PG13. If Philly makes the run we expect and say loses game 7 of the ECF or even takes them to the Finals I don’t see how he walks away. My question is if no trade happens by opening night and Kahwi follows through with Operation Shutdown what does this do to what’s left of his reputation and does S.A have any recourse if he is basically taking a prolonged 1 1/2 year vacation on their dime?

All talk by Kawhi that he will sit out...forfiet $20 million.. Have not played in 2 years coming off an injury...He will ruin his career. Spurs will file a grievance against him.

To me Kawhi is only going to do what his camp tells him to do. Guy is already an NBA champion and finals MVP. He just wants to be in LA.

The Spurs HAVE to trade him to the Lakers or settle for peanuts! He won't sit if he's healthy, but there will be no chemistry with the Spurs, makes no sense at all to keep him on the roster and get nothing for him at the end of next year. He wants to be a Laker, and like Kaname484 said, he is already a NBA champion. He will tell every team he will not resign, no team will give up anything worthy, and as time goes by the spurs will get less from the Lakers. If you are a Spurs fan you have to want to get the best value now. Parker should have kept his mouth shut.

Tony Parker was coerced to say that by Pop bc he was too coward to call Kahwi out in public. When have you ever heard Tony criticize anyone in public? As of right now L.A is trying to swindle S.A. Pop is not dealing Kahwi without Ingram/Kuzma/Hart + 1st rounder. It's simple as that. I still think if he gets traded it's to Phillly.

And no way Pop deals him to L.A without bleeding them dry. See where we're going here? Either he goes to Philly or a team desperate to win it all next year or he stays.

It depends. Buford is very smart...but also very pragmatic. He knows the clock is ticking. Plan #1 is to let the chatter settle down a bit (unless Philly makes a crazy offer) to see if Kawhi comes around - he is VERY young in terms of the business side and Buford has handled this before with a very shy, reticent Tim Duncan and others.
While it will be VERY uncomfortable at first, SAS will be willing to have Kawhi start the season there (IF he's healthy!) and see if he has had a change of heart. If Kawhi is still adamant after that, they will do the best they can with the Lakers.

^^^^^^ you think the lakers wouldn’t give up some talent now for a serious shot at a title this year ..... lebron came here to win , don’t let the talking heads at espn , tell you it’s about purely lifestyle , great competitive athletes NEVER become less competitive
blah blah blah shut up, poodle
western is a hell of conf compared to pathetic east.

How about looking at this upcoming year for LABron from a completely different perspective...James has played an entire career now with huge expectations and pressure to always win and compete for titles...this upcoming season could be all about the "show" and "entertainment"...after all hes done up until now doesnt James deserve a "paid holiday" type season where he brings back the nostaligia glitz and glamour to the "Showtime Lakers"? If not one more roster move is done between now and next offseason where LA will get Leonard without selling off a ton if their young assets prematurely, James will still be able to sneak into the playoffs this year and thats big enough for Lakers brass....thatll be another 100 games the Warriors will have put on their collective stars "treads" and come 2 seasons from now, who knows what the Lakers roster will look like with all the moves they will be able to make...a new banana boat 2.0 crew surely will come chase rings with LAbron once Kawahi lands there along with a legit HOF type head coach right?
What im saying is Lebron is not stupid...perhaps hes looking at this upcoming year as one he settles into his new surroundings, enjoys living the LA lifestyle with family and friends, and just plays hoops for the fun of entertaining the crowd like Magic used to in the 80s...theres zero pressure in LA for James to win a title this year...its a win win scenario for the entire franchise simply getting him to sign in the dotted line for four years...the year after next when they can sign Leonard for nothing is when they play for titles or bust.
Victory Belongs to the Most Tenacious

The reality is it doesn’t matter what James does, certain retards will always find a reason to criticize him. I think he has got to a point where he realizes that he could win next 5 finals and it still isn’t enough. He moved to LA to expand his brand for after basketball is done. Obviously he still wants to win but he isn’t stupid he knows a year from now they get Leonard and keep all the pieces they have now. What he gives Lakers right away which they haven’t had in years is that they are relevant.
