Going to any team other than the Warriors would have been borderline retarded... he's a basketball player, and win or lose, he will enjoy life more on that team than he will at any other time, past or future!  He is getting to live a dream that pretty much no other player ever gets the opportunity to live... doing anything else would have been insane!

I am curious to know how you reacted to Lebron going to Miami when that happened.  At least in this case he is joining a team that was already in place, as a legit free agent... the Miami assemblage was a contrived basketball conglomeration, practically conspired the previous year during the Olympics...

Don't know how anybody can criticize him for this move.

simple...warriors can win a title WITHOUT durant....miami could not win one WITHOUT lebron...meaning lebron was still the man in miami,durant will just be a piece in gs...on paper thunder had the best team on paper if he stayed,its a weak move.

Duderonomy, this must be your first day back to covers in a couple weeks. Haven't heard from you since the 73 win warriors choked away a championship. BTW, this is worse than what Lebron did. He left to join the team that beat him and the team that just broke the all time wins record. What Lebron did was bad but this is worse.

Respect the guy or not, he didn't make this move for your respect. He is a ball player and things like this happens. I'll ride with KD and I'm not a GS fan

It's the exact same thing as LeBron. KD was getting recruited all year. How is Durant's move brilliant but LeBron's was basically a disgrace as you're saying.

When the dust settles it was the right move… what everyone does not realize is Westbrook is good as gone and advised Durant he is leaving next year no matter what so do whats best for him.  At least this way okc can get something for Westbrook.  Different story if Wrstbrook was locked up for 2-3 more years. 

Also since he is leaving why go to any other team other than GS.  It's all about rings.

i understand your distaste for lebron,the way he does things and his personality are a major turn-off to me also....durant definitely appears on the surface to be much more like-able and less narcissistic.........but most of the heat lebron caught for switching teams was because of the fact he "was running for help" and "cudnt get it done by elevating his own team"....yep,EXACTLY like durant......as a side issue folks were put off by the way lebron conducted himself but lets be real and talk about the crux of the matter.

Durant definetly handled the whole thing better but this is by no means any better than what lebron did. The heat didn't just break the all time wins record and eliminate cleveland in the playoffs. It looks weak just like what Lebron did but its a free market. I don't have much of an issue with it. But if you degrade lebron for doing it don't praise durant. Thats hypocritical

I don't care either way (Hawks fan), I just think it's funny because Durant said "We (superstars) are supposed to play  against each other" when LeBron went to the Heat. Then he goes and joins Steph, Klay, Green, and the 73 win Warriors. Like KD, but will be rooting for the field though. Maybe D Wade will go to Cleveland and we can wait til June to watch the NBA.

KD just replacing Barnes and it's cool and ok ? KD is joining a 73-9 team you dumbfxxxk. The difference between LBJ was he joined the heat with Bosh at the same year and the heat had a 47-35 record the year before he joined them .

I had no problems with KD joining GS because I don't actually give a damn but as a superstar level like he is , he just made a box decision to play with more great players to try to achieve a championship . I have no respect for this guy because he may have the superstar talent but he's weak in mentally ...... and don't even try to compare him with LBJ . LBJ choose to go home and played with less talent teammates. He carried them to the final back to back and this is what a real superstar do . They fight through the battles , not joining your enemies when you can't beat them .
