The Phoenix Suns will be desperate to give their play-in hopes a jolt when they host the red-hot Houston Rockets on Sunday.
Phoenix (35-39), which has dropped its last two games, is 11th in the Western Conference, one game behind both the Dallas Mavericks and the Sacramento Kings, who are tied for ninth place. Two of these three teams appear likely to fill the last two berths in the play-in tournament.
The Suns missed an opportunity to nudge past Dallas into the 10th spot on Friday when they lost 124-109 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Minneapolis.

Detroit (42-32) can improve its chances for a top-six playoff seed when it tips off against the Minnesota Timberwolves (42-32) on Sunday evening in Minneapolis.
Detroit's next test will come against the Timberwolves, who have alternated losses and victories over the past four games. Minnesota coasted to a 124-109 win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night and now will aim for back-to-back victories for the first time since mid-March.
The Pistons have won three games in a row and five of their past six contests.
