I gotta say, I was absolutely shocked at the amount of individuals that came to my defense on an absolutely abysmal day where I went 0fer gifting 16 units to the big bad books. When I woke up and began watching the games, one after the other, I was like "Oh boy the trolls are going to be cookin' over the bridge" But, I was so surprised to see just the few familiar trolls that lurk on covers and instead saw so many soldiers. It really is much appreciated. I assure you, I won't be going anywhere anytime soon because of trolls who gamble rather than invest. My bankroll this year can take a massive amount of punches before being knocked out, I knew this would be a very difficult season to cap, however, that is not to say I am not irritated at what is the worst betting month I have had since the 2005-2006 season, but worried I am not. This is month 1 of the NBA betting year, still 7 more to go. Once again, much appreciation to those loyal soldiers, as always gents, wishing all of you the best of luck, peace - - - MAK --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mak's 2014/2015 NBA Season Investments

Many of you may think it is a trap line and it may well be, but both teams are 8 deep and, positionally, I like em all for the Bulls which is rare, usually teams matchup evenly at some positions, but today I really think the Bulls have the Nets number. Derrick Rose had a very productive 26 minutes his last game out, and when he has played this season, I have loved what I have seen from Rose. His jump shot has really improved and he still has explosive quickness, he may not slash and finish strong anymore, but the quickness is still there for all the other facets of the game. He and Deron will battle tonight, but I like Rose here. Today Dunleavy and Bojan will go at it and although Bojan is a very capable offensive threat, I see Mike taking advantage of Bojan's lack of defensive awareness and experience. Butler and Johnson are the key matchup for me tonight, Butler matches Iso Joe in size and is still one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA, he is a guy who can cause Joe to shoot less than 50% tonight and actually beat him in offensive production. Pau will match up with KG and both should battle all night, but in terms of overall production, it should easily go to Gasol here. Noah will cause fits for Lopez, he is a guy who can match up pound for pound with big Brooke and box him out as well, Noah is an all around stud at the 5 position, once again leading the team in boards and assists. The bench for the Bulls is scarce without the services of Taj, but still strong with Kirk, Aaron and Mirotic. They match up perfectly with Mirza, Jack and Anderson and it will be a very close battle for 2nd unit production this afternoon. I do see this game being very competitive from start to finish, but rebounds, ball movement and rock protection will all be keys to the Chicago win and cover today. Chicago ranks 9th overall in rebounds while Brooklyn ranks 23rd, Chicago ranks 11th in assists per game (even without Rose for a majority of games) while the Nets are a very selfish team ranking 22nd in the association. Bulls rank 12th in the NBA in turnovers and the Nets rank 22nd. All signs (except for the line) point to a Bulls win, I really hope Chicago bullies the home team from start to finish. 4 UNITS DERRICK "IT'S TIME" ROSE - - -

ORLANDO MAGIC + 10.5 (-110) - - -
I understand that Orlando has really let the ball slip over the past
few games, but I still think this is a very underrated roster. I love
the group of young talent on this team, tonight they face the run and
gun Suns back from their road trip. Teams always tend to struggle a bit
coming back home from a road trip and I am hoping this young Suns squad
does that tonight. I like the starting back-court for the Magic to
battle with the ultra talented Bledsoe and Dragic. Fournier has really
struggles over the past few games and I think the up-tempo game tonight
will help him get back on track, he will also match up against a smaller
guard and he always does well when he has a size advantage. Oladipo
has been a bit inconsistent since his return but now that he has his
game-shape back, I suspect him to continue his solid play from last
year, he also matches up well with Eric here. Tobias is now going to be
back playing at his natural 3 position for most of the game now that
O'Quinn is back for the Magic. Tobias thrives at the 3 where his size
and quickness always causes problems for most wing players in the NBA,
Marcus Morris will be no exception. Frye back in Phoenix and I hope he
comes through with a solid game and hits a few three point shots
tonight. Nikola is just a bad matchup for Plumlee and he should have
his way with him. The bench for the Suns is always stellar, even if
Isiah doesn't play, they still have enough firepower to cover large
spreads, but now with O'Quinn back for the Magic, Ben Gordon and Payton
do well in an uptempo setting. I just wish Jaque Vaughn's love affair
with Willie Green would end already, the guy has a horrible +/- and I
will love to see Grdon and Markless eat up his minutes completely. I
see the young Magic team flourishing in the uptempo game, starters play
big minutes, and the Magic get the cover.

Obviously I would love this play a lot more if Big Cous does not play,
without him revenge will not be possible for the Kings. The Kings lost a
heartbreaker in Memphis with a 0.3 second buzzer beater by Lee. The
Griz were only in that position because of a horrific 1st Q where they
actually got booed by their home crowd....yes the best team in the NBA
got booed this season, to the crowd's defense, it was an awful start to
the game down 22 in 1 Q, but then the Griz went on to take control and
win the next 3 quarters of play. I see the Griz being ultra-prepared
for this one. Last time Prince started and that experiment obviously
did not work, with Lee, Allen and Conley, it creates for a different
dynamic on defense and really creates a lot of problems for the opposing
1,2,3 positions in the NBA. Add the best 4 and 5 combo in the league,
and you have one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. My concern is
the underrated 2nd unit for the Kings, I think they do well tonight, but
the Griz also have an underrated squad off the pine and guys like
Quincy, Jon, Koufus and Beno need to be commended for the Griz being on
top of the NBA right now. With Vince and Tay also in the mix, this team
not only has one of the best starting 5s in the NBA, but one of the
deeper teams in the association. I will take the Griz minus one
possession against any team in the NBA, especially right now with a 5
man playing the best basketball of his career. If Cousins does not play
I will be adding a unit maybe two to this play no matter what the
spread change. Griz roll in Cali tonight. 4 UNITS MARC "SLIM SHADY" GASOL - - -

Doesn't make sense to me either bro :(, appreciate the kind words buddy. You asked me in one of the threads a while ago if I was proud of our Raps, didn't want to bump the winning thread (yes it was actually a winning thread :), but I wanted to answer now....YES! Very proud of our boys, let's hope they can sustain the DeRozan injury. Would like to see James start with Ross at the 2. Kyle will have to lead and be aggressive offensively and Lou, Vasquez and Patterson need to outscore their opponents 2nd unit on a nightly basis in order to survive this time without DeRozan. Let's hope for the best, thanks for your post bud, GL today.

Guys, heading out, if unable to come back in time for the games, I may not revisit the thread until much later as I will watch the games on league pass in their entirety later. Apologies in advance if unable to respond to posts tonight, best of luck guys. Peace out - - - MAK

Kings are 0-11 without Cousins last year and in the wacky world of the NBA, they'll probably win this game straight up as a result.
Can't fault ya for taking a 14-2 team to beat a up and coming team that hasn't realized their potential yet without their best player!
LOL, you make a very good point and with my luck I would not be surprised one bit, but I cannot in good conscience not back the Griz in this spot, I just don't think they will look past this game because of what happened in their last head-to-head meeting.
I have no idea what's going on in the game as I am not at home and want to watch the game in its entirety so before I get any spoilers I am going to quickly vacate the thread. Scal keep posting your analysis, I always enjoy reading it when you do post picks, let the haters hate, they always will. You and I seem to get the brunt of it because we write our thoughts in detail...whoda thunk it. GL with your wagers in this wacky world of NBA basketball.
