What is the story here? Of course it has nothing to do with performance... GS is playing better than anytime in my lifetime. By all accounts his players love him. So obviously some rub with ownership or management.

All of the commentators are in unison... they blame ownership. But they always do that... they cater to their friends and it just plays better on air. There is something to this story. Something we do not know yet.

Back in the early 80's, the Bulls fired Doug Collins under the same circumstances. Jordan era, the team was doing great, and looking to knock off the Pistons soon. Then they fired Collins.

Turns out, (rumors) say that Collins was banging the owners daughter. Of course that kind of thing is never verified as fact. Some thing is going on here that we don't know about. It is more than a personality conflict. Blame could be anywhere... I just don't buy the analysts all being in unison here.

He just didn&#x27;t get along with his bosses. I think it&#x27;s partly about performance. It&#x27;s just like any job. If you&#x27;re a pain in the behind and win titles, see Phil Jackson, people will put up with anything. If you&#x27;re average or above average you gotta get along with your bosses or it&#x27;s not worth it to keep you around. If he won a title this year or even made the conf finals I think they&#x27;d be hard pressed to fire him. I don&#x27;t think he&#x27;s banging anyone&#x27;s daughter. He&#x27;s just a pain in the behind they&#x27;re tired of dealing with.

Okay, Warriors had made the postseason ONCE in 17 F'IN years before Jackson got there.

Obviously, he had to go..............

If you are going to fire a guy, you had better have somebody lined up...............and better....................to take his place.

It can't be Steve Kerr, because nobody hires a coach with no experience at the NBA level.......................unless......................it was your previous coach, Mark Jackson. Ok, that makes sense.

Hoping the Giants fire Bruce Bochy and 49ers fire Harbaugh to make it a trifecta of stupidity...........................

Okay this does make more sense now... thanks for the comments.

I have no reason to believe that Mark Jackson is a good coach really... after considering all thoughts, I think GS did well this season based on the talent. They fell flat in the playoffs, when they were arguably the more talented team. That is coaching or lack thereof

The very suspicious thing is that most of the media types are all saying he is such a great guy. But there are very suspect demographics as to those testimonials.

The real test will be if the team has a plan to bring in a coach that will do a better job. NO you do not need NBA head coaching experience to be successful. I will point to my own Chicago Bulls, they hired a guy we all never heard of and now he considered one of the very best in the game, AND his players love him.

Journeymen coaches are a facade. If they were so damn great they would not have lost their job. Larry Brown may be the one exception that stands out.

Perhaps former players are NOT the best choice for a head coach.

At least not those that quickly rise to head coach soon after a playing career. Players are all spoiled and overpaid. Some deserve it more than others. Most all of them have never had a real job in their lifetime. A job in which they were paid some obscure amount in which to pay bills. A job in which they had to conform and please their boss or get fired. The kind of job that the most of us have had for years.

Fell flat in the playoffs?They were a minute away from winning a game 7.........on the road.That is NOT falling flat.They were not the more talented team. Clippers were/are the more talented team.Bogut being hurt was huge. Look at the numbers for Jordan and Griffin. They did whatever they wanted. No inside defensive presence for the Warriors.I was not a fan of how Jackson used his bench during the season. I thought that the offense was pedestrian. Lacked imagination. To much 1 on 1 basketball.But the guy won. The players like him. They gave maximum effort. He got them to back to back playoffs. He had them playing defense. 3rd in the league. If Jackson was "dating" Lacobs wife...........he should be fired.Otherwise........give the man an extension.

Ok so you like to use a lot of silly emoticons... do you think that makes your point?  really?You seem to think it is a forgone conclusion that Jackson is a great coach... I would say the jury is out on that one.  He had personality issues with his superiors, his assistant coaches, and reportedly he would be late to the facilities and the first to leave.time will tell... let&#x27;s see how the new guy does with this very talented team  Let&#x27;&#x27;s see who hired Jackson, if he gets hired.  Word is that he is NOT a hot commodity.  You and I are not privy to the details of the problems or why he was fired, but those tidbits do travel with him to other interviews.  Let&#x27;s see how he does with a new team, if he gets the chance.I would not be so assured to bet on him

On the other hand, you said, " I have no reason to believe Mark Jackson is a good coach.." and later came back with, "the jury is still out there" so which one is it? Based on his limited time, I would say he had done a pretty good job.&#xD;&#xA;A NBA team won with talent? They all do. Do you think Phil Jackson won with scrubs?&#xD;&#xA;Obviously, there is something behind the firing but if he is such a failure as a coach, it wouldn&#x27;t come with that kind of responses. See, you don&#x27;t have to twist and put him down to get your point across.
