It happens all the time. A player gets injured and everyone writes that team off. A big trade goes down, and everyone leans the otherway...
How many of you are avoiding or even considering taking Minnesota tonight because of Michael Redd's season ending injury?! Let me tell ya, there is nothing that Vegas and the books love more than when people jump the gun over news like this.
Now, I'm not disputing the fact that Michael Redd means a lot to the Bucks franchise. Hell, the guy is an All-Star, Gold Medal winner, and he's averaging 21PPG this season. He's a hell of a player. But it's because of these reason that most people are going to jump the gun and go against the Bucks. Let's be honest, who else can Joe Public name on the Milwaukee Bucks other than Michael Redd? It's the equivilant to the Lakers losing Kobe Bryant or the Cavs losing Lebron James.
Now the Bucks are undermanned are going up against a Minnesota team that is on a bit of a roll. The T-Wolves are 8-2 in their last 10, have knocked off teams like New Orleans and Phoenix, and even beat Milwaukee a few weeks back. They are coming off an OT win against the Bulls. Everything is going well for Minnesota at the moment. Just more ammunition for people looking to go against the Bucks...
Bottom line is I've seen situations like this before. Poeple rush and make bets because so and so is outta the line up. What happens, they get burned.
The line opened at Bucks -2 and has gone to -3 which is even more appealing to those looking to take the T-Wolves.
Be cautious about this game people...
