This is the championship right here. Lose game 1 to Boston at home and you’re facing a daunting task where history doesn’t favor you.
Kerr has now lost 4 straight home games in the finals dating back 2019. How he fell sleep at the wheel in the single most important game of the series is incredible. I could see Boston playing possum and making its run from a mile away on my TV in SF. How could he just sit there and let that lead go to 5 before calling timeout. And why not keep Curry in and go for the kill in the 4th? The guy has had an entire week off just for this moment.

Historically speaking tonight was bad for Kerr and the Warriors..
The Warriors were outscored by 24 points in the 4th quarter which is the largest single quarter point differential in Finals History ..
Kerr also becomes the first Coach in NBA Finals History to lose by 10+ points after leading by 10+ points heading into the 4th quarter..

Agree with this assessment BB. Also feel that Kerr kept Curry out too long at the start of the 2Q as well which is when the Celtics slowly got their mojo happening. A week off and injury free, no need to rest Curry that much after he dropped 21 in the 1Q

@AussieDownUnder
I think part of him being in the bench in the first half had to do with the 3 cheap fouls he picked up against Smart. But no excuse for sitting him at all in the 2nd half. Kerr must have missed the Miami series where Spo played Butler all 48 in a do or die game. In the finals, every game should be treated like a do or die game, especially game one.

If I was just going by the line, most of the the tickets on the Warriors but line is moving against them, it’s not promising. I can’t see Boston being that hot from 3 again, 51%, and GS should get some home cooking from the officiating, so my lean is Warriors. Have not decided if I’m playing it.

Where do you see the line moving against the Warriors? I actually dont think thats a bad sign, Im just asking. My book opened as a -4 went to -4.5 and then dropped to -4. The moneyline though moved up, to me thats not a good sign. Reminds me of game 7 suns. Line opened -6 and moved to -6.5. Money line moved from -220 to -265 and they got blown out in both halves. They were -10 second half and got outscored by 3. The game 1 line in this finals is literally exactly like the game 2 line. Relatively low warriors line and everyone is betting Warriors first half and game. Spread and moneyline. Honestly, I believe the game was lost in the first half. When Steph goes off for 21 and you are down 2 at half, I knew they would lose. I was not touching that second half -3. Even when they were up 15, I had a really bad feeling. I know my team. When steph goes off and others are standing around its never good. Its better when he is playmaking off his gravity, getting wveryone involved in the process. Warriors should have been up 15 at half, win the game by like 6. I think Kerr should have rode Curry in the second quarter and really stepped on their throat. Kerrs rotations were very bad.

Kerr’s biggest mistake was pulling Curry in the first half and not putting value in first half momentum. Although he does that a lot, I dont think this is the series for that. But shit what do I know.
