The 2015 NBA Draft set a viewing record on Thursday night, according to Nielsen ratings.
The telecast averaged 3,738,000 viewers on ESPN, an increase of eight percent from 2014 that made it the most-watched NBA Draft in history.
The peak audience was 5,131,000 viewers from 8 to 8:15 p.m. ET. Center Karl-Anthony Towns was the first pick in the draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The draft's 2.4 U.S. household rating was a four percent increase from last year and peaked at 3.3 from 8 to 8:15 p.m.
The NBA Draft has been televised by ESPN since 2003 and viewing records date to 1994.
